New MDCAPS Feature!

Students may now submit documentation to the Office of Student Financial Assistance (OSFA), online through their Maryland College Aid Processing System (MDCAPS) account.

The ELECTRONIC FILE UPLOAD tool is another milestone in our efforts to streamline the process for state grant/scholarship programs. MDCAPS is now the one-stop shop for students to view and submit the documentation required to complete their applications. Most importantly, this process is QUICK, EASY, and SECURE!

For more information on the Electronic File Upload Tool procedures, go to the bottom of this document.

Reminder: Use the GPA Upload Tool

As application deadlines approach, high school staff can utilize the Maryland College Aid Processing System (MDCAPS) to report the first semester cumulative unweighted GPA for their high school seniors. This will eliminate the need for staff and students to submit a hard copy of their transcript to MHEC. Utilizing the GPA Upload Tool will also save time and resources, while ensuring required information is accurately submitted by the deadline!

For more information, or to sign up for the GPA Upload Tool, you may contact the Office of Student Financial Assistance by email at fafsa.mhec@.

PLEASE NOTE-Any high school that opts to submit student transcripts in lieu of utilizing the GPA Upload Tool, must submit each transcript as an individual file. We are unable to accept files that include transcripts for multiple students.

The 2021-2022 MHEC scholarship and grant application review cycle is now underway. Students must submit an application as applicable AND required documentation by the published due date.
