Applicant interest areas

Please note for any of the services below involving contact with a rescue animal, that they may have unknown vaccination status and may be harboring infectious diseases or parasites. These diseases can be transmitted to your pets if you do not use proper cleaning procedures for all personal belongings that come in contact with the animal. Discuss proper procedures with the Fostering Coordinator before performing any services involving animal contact.

SOS Animal Rescue liability release

Please read and be sure you understand the following before signing:

I understand that I must choose what services I will offer and which individual animals I will assist. I will not hold S.O.S. Animal Rescue responsible for any damage, injury or harm caused directly or indirectly by any dog or cat I handle as a volunteer. I also understand that S.O.S. Animal Rescue is not in a position to reimburse all costs incurred in the rescue of dogs or cats. I will not bring suit against S.O.S. Animal Rescue, its agents, volunteers, their heirs or estates in case of financial or other loss resulting from my activities as a rescue volunteer.

I further understand that any dog or cat placed in the name of S.O.S. Animal Rescue (i.e. using our adoption forms & other paperwork) must have received full veterinary care including appropriate vaccines, must have been spayed or neutered unless a veterinarian recommends against it for reasons of age or health, and must have been quarantined for a minimum of 14 days after last date of receiving vaccinations, prior to placement in an adoptive home. In addition, I understand that animals that have demonstrated unsound temperament or unprovoked aggression cannot be placed in the name of S.O.S. Animal Rescue. I also agree to abide by any other written policies of S.O.S. Animal Rescue, including those in effect at this time and those voted into effect in the future.
