DIY Minnie or Mickey Ears!
What could be better than a set of Minnie or Mickey ears to join in the celebration of D23's 10 year anniversary! Follow the directions and have fun! Kids, have a grown-up help you with the cutting and hot glueing.
What you will need:
? Gold glitter paper (black paper for Mickey) ? 2 sheets of heavy printer paper ? Regular printer paper ? 1 sheet glitter black felt ? 1 headband 1/2" thick covered in fabric,
preferably black ? 8.5" x 11" x 3/16" thick foam board ? Glue stick ? Glue gun with low temperature glue sticks ? Scissors ? Box cutter or craft blade ? Pen or pencil ? Cutting surface
TIP: Read through all of the instructions before beginning the
project.

Directions: Step 1 Print out the pages with the ear art onto heavy printer paper. Trim out the ears along the solid line.
Step 2 Trace an outline of the ears onto the foam board. Cut out the shapes with the box cutter or craft blade.
Step 3 Print out 2 glitter paper templates onto regular paper. Trim out the templates along the solid line. Apply glue stick all over the white sides of the templates and adhere them to the back of the glitter paper. Trim out the templates again along the solid line. Then, trim out each of the black triangles. See example photo of how the glitter paper will look like when trimmed out.

Step 4 Apply hot glue to the cut out foam boards onto the back of the glitter paper. Be sure to align them to the dashed line. Step 5 Apply a small amount of hot glue to a tab and gently fold the tab over the foam board as shown in the photo. Work on one tab at a time moving around the edge of the foam board. Step 6 Glue on the ear shape to cover the glued tabs. Repeat the same steps to the other ear.

Step 7 Print out the Ear Alignment guide page. Lay the headband and ears over the guide. Apply hot glue to the curved side of an ear and glue in place. Repeat. Step 8 To make the bow, fold the 9" x 12" black felt in half. Cut into a 6" x 9" piece. Trim a 1/2" strip along the 6" side of the felt. Step 9 Fold the felt like an accordion and wrap the 1/2" strip in the center to secure the bow. Use hot glue to secure.

Step 10 Apply hot glue to the center of the bow and glue onto the headband between the ears.
