Logo and Trademark GuidelinesGrant RecipientsLogos are extremely important assets to all companies, and Microsoft is no exception. As the most visible form of our brand identity, they represent the intellectual resources, high standards and corporate values Microsoft has put into its software products since 1975. That's why we ask our nonprofit partners who wish to use Microsoft's trademarked logos to observe the guidelines and legal restrictions outlined below.If your organization has received a grant (software or cash) from Microsoft (“Recipient”), you may wish to use the Microsoft Logo (“Logo”) to recognize this contribution. For said purpose, Microsoft grants a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Microsoft logo depicted in the Specifications (“Logo”) only to promote the Sponsor/Grantee relationship between your organization and Microsoft. All uses of the Logo must comply with the Specifications and other conditions herein, and all rights not expressly granted herein are reserved by Microsoft.Recipient acknowledges Microsoft’s sole ownership of the Logo, and all associated goodwill, and that Microsoft retains all right, title, and interest in and to the Logo. Recipient will not use the Logo in any manner that will diminish or otherwise damage Microsoft’s?goodwill in the Logo, and any goodwill arising from Recipient’s use of the Logo shall inure to Microsoft’s benefit. Microsoft shall have the right to review use of the Logo, and Recipient agrees to fully correct and remedy any deficiencies in its use of the Logo promptly upon receipt of notice from Microsoft. Recipient shall immediately cease all use of the Logo upon notice from Microsoft.The Microsoft Logo is available for download at nonprofittoolkitLogo Use Specifications 1.Recipient may use the Logo solely on materials created to promote the Sponsor/Grantee relationship between your organization and Microsoft and in no other manner. A description of the goods/services enabled by the grant received from Microsoft should be included, where appropriate. For example: “Technology training at <Name of your organization> is made possible by a software donation from Microsoft.”2. Recipient’s name, logo, or trademark must appear on any materials where Logo is used and must be larger and more prominent than the Logo. When two logos are used together, the Microsoft logo should be no larger than 2/3 the size of the Recipient logo without violating the minimum logo size as indicated on page 2. 3.The Logo may not be used in any manner that expresses or might imply Microsoft’s affiliation, sponsorship, endorsement, certification, or approval, other than as contemplated by the Logo License.4.Recipient shall not use the Logo in a manner that might suggest co-branding or otherwise create potential confusion as to source or sponsorship of Recipient or Recipient’s products or services, or ownership of the Logo.? 5.Recipient may not use the Logo in any manner that suggests that Recipient’s product or services are Microsoft products, or in any manner that suggests that the Logo is a part of Recipient or Recipient’s product/services name.6.The Logo may not be included in any non-Microsoft trade name, business name, domain name, product or service name, logo, trade dress, design, slogan, or other trademark.7.Recipient may use the Logo only as provided by Microsoft.? Except for size subject to the restrictions herein, the Logo may not be altered in any manner, including proportions, colors, elements, etc., or animated, morphed, or otherwise distorted in perspective or dimensional appearance.8.The Logo may not be combined with any other symbols, including words, logos, icons, graphics, photos, slogans, numbers, or other design elements.9.The Logo must stand alone.? A minimum amount of empty space must surround the Logo separating it from any other object, such as type, photography, borders, edges, etc.? The minimum amount of clear or "empty" space that surrounds the logo should be at least equal to ? the height of the logo. 10. The integrity of all elements of the Logo must be maintained.? For example, the type and trademark notations must be readable; in no event may the Logo appear so small that these conditions are not met. The minimum size for the logo is 1.25 inches (3cm) wide in print or 90 pixels on-screen. ................
