These assignments will be divided into 3-4 sections to suggest that students complete one section each night. It will be handed back with incorrect answers marked so students can review what they missed.Late Work:Late assignments (excluding homework) will be accepted up to 5 days after the due date unless the end of the unit OR end of the marking period comes first. There will be a 10% deduction in the grade for each day late. Missed Work due to EXCUSED absence(s): It is the student’s responsibility to pick up any hand-outs, notes & other pertinent information that is missed during an absence. These assignments will be made available on the “MAKE UP WORK” bulletin board located in our classroom. If there are questions about the topics covered, the student is responsible for setting up a time to come in to receive instruction/clarification.Second Chance Learning:When a student fails a formative assessment, he/she is given the opportunity to earn back 50% of the points missed due to concept mistakes (not careless errors). The purpose is for the student to be able to re-visit a particular concept and be sure he/she understands that concept before moving on to our next unit of study. Each question missed will need to be corrected and clarification of the reason it was marked incorrect will need to be included. This assignment is voluntary and must be completed one school day after the quiz is handed back. We will use a standard form, called an “Error Log”, that is available in class and online.3771900793750038195256985RESPECT00RESPECTRules and Expectations:We will have ONE rule in Mrs. Edwards’ classroom –It is expected that the teacher & students will1) Respect each otherRespect belongingsRespect yourselfIf this rule cannot be followed on a daily basis parent phone calls will be made and student detentions will be assigned. Each day students need to be prepared with:A sharpened pencil (NO PEN!)
