Summer Campership Application

Deadline to apply is Friday, March 26th, 2021

Scholarships offer an opportunity for students with a keen interest in science, medicine, arts and nature who may not be able to afford full registration fees. Scholarships includes all classes, materials and field trip expenses. Youth awarded a scholarship must provide a $25 nonrefundable deposit in order to attend. Scholarships are provided through generous gifts from various businesses, foundations and individuals that believe in supporting science and health education programs at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History.

Drop-off and pick-up for in-person camps is at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. EXCEPT: Science Explorers: Meet Me At Mentor Marsh, campers must provide their own transportation to and from the Mentor Marsh (5185 Corduroy Road, Mentor.) each day to participate. All camps run 9am- 4pm daily. Campers must arrive between 8:30-9:00 am and be picked up by 4:15 pm. Junior Medical Camp campers should arrive between 9:00-9:30 am and be picked up by 4:15. Campers must provide their own lunch each day of camp.

Circle Sampler Camp (CSC). Campers experience an exciting week of exploration at the scientific, artistic, musical, theatrical and cultural institutions around historic Wade Oval. This unique all-day program partners with several amazing institutions in University Circle to enrich your child’s understanding of our world. For campers entering grades 1-5.

Junior Medical Camp (JMC) explores the science behind medicine and human health. Campers learn about microbiology, forensic science, veterinary medicine, physical therapy, and other topics related to human health. Each week includes interactions with scientists, experiments and real dissections. For campers entering grades 6-12.

Science Explorers: Meet Me At Mentor Marsh Campers meet at Mentor Marsh each day for lessons with naturalists and museum educators exploring science and nature in this idyllic setting. Lessons take place in the nature center and on the trails of the Marsh Preserve. Campers gain exposure to a range of sciences including archaeology, paleontology and ecology. For campers entering grades 4-6.

Virtual Astronomy Camp Become an expert on the basics like the sky, the seasons, and the phases of the moon. Discuss how we know what we know about the history of our Solar System and our Universe. Astronomy Camp is for campers entering grades 6-8.

Virtual Medical Camp features live dissections, real experiments and virtual access to behind the scenes Museum spaces! This virtual experience features career opportunities in science and medicine throughout the week. A kit of worksheets will be sent after registration and prior to the start of the camp session. For campers entering grades 6-12.

Step 4—Income Requirements

Request that your school office or guidance counselor provide a letter stating you qualify for the national reduced price meals program. This letter must be received no later than Friday, March 26th, 2021.

□ Check this box if camper attends a CMSD or CHUH school. We do not require a letter of lunch program qualification for CMSD/CHUH students.

If you do not receive free or reduced price school meals, but you still meet the income guidelines, have your school send a letter stating you qualify. If you cannot get a letter from your school, submit a notarized letter signed by a witness that states that you meet the income guidelines.
