As a precaution, current government guidance states that all pregnant women should be largely shielded from social contact until 11/5/2020, particularly after 28 weeks gestation. Routine immunisations performed during pregnancy should continue to be provided in primary care.2/ Baby checks and baby immunisations are essential to safeguard children and identify concerns. There is expected to be a rise in home births and the initial baby checks may not have been performed. Routine 6-8 week checks should continue to be provided in primary care with the first immunisations performed at the same time.3/ Contraception requirements continue – birth rate expected to rise with current isolation policy. Routine insertion of intra-uterine devices or implants are not being performed by Locala. Contact Locala for emergency IUD appointments when required.
