Well done to everyone who has been working so hard at home, you are doing a fantastic job! I love seeing the work that you have been doing at home. There are videos on how to access HWB on our website, you can upload videos and photos to your files to show me what you have been doing. There is a video on the website that shows how to do this too! Here are the next tasks for you to complete with a grown up at home; we are going to be learning about the topic ‘Houses and Homes’. Take photos of the things that you are doing and upload them to HWB, I will be able to see what you are doing and leave a comment! If you see a speech bubble on your work, click this and you will see my comments. Take care, Miss James x Daily Do’s- These are the different things that we do in school every day.Phonics- practise the learning the letter sound by sight and using the letter formation jingles to help you write the sound. Can you paint/draw or use JIT to create a picture of your home and draw the people that live in your house too! Try and emergently write the names of the people who live in your house underneath. Take a photo and upload to HWB! Do you know what house number you live in? What street do you live on? Try and find out!Talk to your grownups at home and think about what your favourite room in your house is and why? You can draw a picture of your favourite room on JIT.Do you know the different names of the rooms in your house? Can you drag the right name to the right room? You will need to look in your Shared File. Can you sort the items that we might find in our houses to the right rooms? Try and recognise the initial sound of each room, get your grown up to help you read the word. You will need to click edit in the left-hand corner before you start and do not forget to click save!Build your own house, you could use Lego or construction, boxes (and decorate) or junk model and use anything that you have at home (plastic bottles, cereal boxes etc.) Can you build a big house and a small house?Listen to School Radio- EYFS Listen and Play- Inside Sounds: - what sounds can you hear?There are new sounds to practise your letter formations, can you find different items in your house that start with these sounds? Look in your Shared File.Count the houses in your street, how many houses are there? Do the houses have numbers? Can you count in 1s or 2s? Whilst in your street/ local area, can you look at the different colour doors on each house. You will need to mark make to keep a record to find out what the most popular door colour is! Your grownups will help you record your data. Once you have finished recording your data, use the number formation jingles to help you write the number of doors for each colour e.g. black door- 8 houses etc.Watch Topsy and Tim- Moving House- – answer the following questions:1. How does the furniture get moved to the new house?2. How do Topsy and Tim feel about moving to a new house?3. What pet do Topsy and Tim have for their new house?Following on from watching Topsy and Tim, I would like you all to take part in a moving to a new house challenge outdoors! Get your grownups to put different household objects/boxes in a space outdoors, you will need to move the boxes/objects to another space! You will need to move carefully and try not to drop anything!2D Shape House colouring (if you do not have access to a printer, you can draw the designs out on paper)- can you talk about the differences between the houses as you colour?
