DEAR FRIENDS,

Universally, 2020 was a year of unexpected change. Almost overnight, our world came to a halt as schools and businesses closed, travel stopped, and all plans went out the window. These changes brought about an exponentially increased need by our communities: rising unemployment and kids out of school caused long lines at food banks, and restrictions on gatherings meant hospitalized children faced even more isolation than ever.

What didn't change? Our mission: to bring joy to kids battling hunger and illness. And when you have the means to make a difference, you rise to meet the moment. Thanks to the support of Dunkin' franchisees, guests, vendors and corporate employees, in 2020 the Dunkin' Joy in Childhood Foundation granted $5 million to children's health and hunger relief organizations, including $2.25 million in emergency relief grants for nearly 200 nonprofits around the country.

In partnership with Dunkin', we also tried to bring a smile and a sense of normalcy to people by providing simple joys like free cups of coffee for healthcare workers, care packages for food bank employees, and do-it-yourself Halloween donut decorating kits for kids living in shelters who couldn't trick-or-treat.

We were humbled by the way the Dunkin' community came together to support the Dunkin' Joy in Childhood Foundation to help us continue to make an impact ? from running or walking in the Dunkin' JOY Run, our first-ever virtual fundraiser; to participating in our Bark dog toy fundraiser; to donating in-store during our holiday Give Cheer fundraising campaign; and renewing corporate partnership commitments ? all of which helped us raise $8.5 million in a year without in-person fundraising events.

Thank you to all who supported us in 2020 through a multitude of changes and helped us make an impact where it was needed most. Here's to a safe, bright and joyful 2021.

WITH JOY,

The Dunkin' Joy in Childhood Foundation team and Board of Directors

RELIEF

EMERGENCY RELIEF GRANTS

When businesses, restaurants and schools began to shut down in March, we started hearing from our hunger relief partners: with people losing their jobs and kids out of school, more people were depending on food relief agencies than ever before. Social distancing measures stripped food banks and food pantries of their volunteer forces, and with people stocking up on food and supplies at the grocery store, suddenly there was little leftover to donate. Nonprofits needed help, and they needed it fast.

On March 19 the Foundation activated $1.25 million in emergency relief grants. We received applications for funding immediately and turned around checks as fast as we could ? some the next day ? to make sure health and hunger nonprofits could meet the ever-expanding need.

We renewed our commitment in August with another $1 million in emergency funding for hunger relief organizations. Through both rounds of funding, we provided grants ranging from $5,000-$30,000 to nearly 200 organizations.

FEEDING THE FRONTLINE

In April, Dunkin' and the Dunkin' Joy in Childhood Foundation partnered to show support for frontline workers. We provided more than 100,000 free cups of coffee in the form of breakfast distributions, care packages and gift cards to doctors, nurses, hospital workers, emergency personnel, first responders and more. Our goal when bringing the Dunkin' truck to more than 25 hospitals around the country was to bring smiles, lift spirits and provide a small sense of normalcy during challenging times.

HELPING HEROES RECHARGE

In April, the Foundation partnered with outdoor adventure nonprofit First Descents to create Hero Recharge, a new program that provides support to healthcare workers ? including those who do so much to help kids battling illness ? facing post-traumatic stress from the pandemic. With Hero Recharge, doctors, nurses and other healthcare heroes can apply to participate in an outdoor adventure retreat with peers who understand what they have been through. At the end of 2020, 13 retreats had already taken place safely across the country.

BRINGING JOY

TO KIDS BATTLING

HUNGER

SUPPORTING HUNGER RELIEF NATIONWIDE

Because families in need face a variety of different circumstances, the Dunkin' Joy in Childhood Foundation has always funded organizations that take creative approaches addressing childhood hunger ? from BackPack programs to nutrition education initiatives, school-based feeding programs and more. In 2020, when schools, libraries and community centers shut down, social distancing measures went into effect and demand for services sharply increased, hunger relief organizations innovated and went to incredible lengths to reach people who needed food.

Through our regional grants and emergency relief grants, the Dunkin' Joy in Childhood Foundation had an opportunity to support an incredible host of programs:

120 FOOD BANKS & FOOD PANTRIES

65 EMERGENCY MEAL PROGRAMS

20 GROCERY DELIVERY PROGRAMS

18 COMMUNITY GARDENS &
