|Apostles Creed | |Liturgist |

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and

sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic

church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

|Responsive Reading: Psalm 25:1-7 |Liturgist |

L: In you, Lord my God, I put my trust.

C: I trust in you; do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me.

L: No one who hopes in you will ever be put to shame,

C: but shame will come on those who are treacherous without cause.

L: Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. (continued on next page)

C: Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.

L: Remember, Lord, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old.

C: Do not remember the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you, Lord, are good.

|Scripture: Joshua 24:14-28 |Liturgist |

14 “Now fear the Lord and serve him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt, and

serve the Lord. 15 But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors

served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”

16 Then the people answered, “Far be it from us to forsake the Lord to serve other gods! 17 It was the Lord our God himself who brought us and our parents up

out of Egypt, from that land of slavery, and performed those great signs before our eyes. He protected us on our entire journey and among all the nations

through which we traveled. 18 And the Lord drove out before us all the nations, including the Amorites, who lived in the land. We too will serve the Lord,

because he is our God.”

19 Joshua said to the people, “You are not able to serve the Lord. He is a holy God; he is a jealous God. He will not forgive your rebellion and your

sins. 20 If you forsake the Lord and serve foreign gods, he will turn and bring disaster on you and make an end of you, after he has been good to you.” 21 But

the people said to Joshua, “No! We will serve the Lord.”

22 Then Joshua said, “You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen to serve the Lord.” “Yes, we are witnesses,” they replied. 23 “Now then,” said

Joshua, “throw away the foreign gods that are among you and yield your hearts to the Lord, the God of Israel.” 24 And the people said to Joshua, “We will serve

the Lord our God and obey him.”

25 On that day Joshua made a covenant for the people, and there at Shechem he reaffirmed for them decrees and laws. 26 And Joshua recorded these things in the

Book of the Law of God. Then he took a large stone and set it up there under the oak near the holy place of the Lord. 27 “See!” he said to all the people. “This

stone will be a witness against us. It has heard all the words the Lord has said to us. It will be a witness against you if you are untrue to your God.” 28 Then

Joshua dismissed the people, each to their own inheritance.

|Invitation, Confession, and Pardon |Rev. Dan Elmore |

Merciful God, we confess that we have not loved you with our whole heart. We have failed to be an obedient church. We have not done your will, we have

broken your law, we have rebelled against your love, we have not loved our neighbors, and we have not heard the cry of the needy. Forgive us, we pray. Free us

for joyful obedience, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

|The Great Thanksgiving |Rev. Dan Elmore |

L: The Lord be with you.

C: And also with you.

L: Lift up your hearts.

C: We lift them up to the Lord.

L: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

C: It is right to give our thanks and praise.

C: Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory.

Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.

C: Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again!

C: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And

forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and

the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
