MEETING MINUTES

JANUARY 8, 2020

The meeting was called to order at 7:31 p.m. by Steve Clever, President.

EXECUTIVE BOARD PRESENT: Steve Clever, President, Cindy Mullin, Executive Vice President, Louise Batory, Secretary, Louie Kline, Treasurer. At Large Members: Brandon Hufnagel, Ken Mathias

CLUBS PRESENT: Barrens, Conewago, Eastern York, Mason Dixon, Panthers United, Spring Grove, United Parish, West York, Windsor/Red Lion

MEETING MINUTES: Steve reviewed the December meeting minutes. Cindy Mullin noted that under EPYSA, the report Infinity should be changed to Affinity. A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes with the noted revision. All ayes.

TREASURER’S REPORT: Louie Kline distributed the December 2019 statement for review and asked if anyone had questions. A motion was made and seconded to approve the statement. All ayes. A copy of the statement is filed in the league office.

WEBMASTER: No report.

EXECUTIVE BOARD REPORT:

York Cup Award: Steve reported that they are working with Angelo’s to come up with a champion award. He showed a sample of a towel and commented that they have asked Angelo’s to come up with other suggestions.

Financial Settlement: Steve reported that Tim (Herman) missed the first restitution payment that was due on November 3rd. He stated that the courts received a payment on December 4th and December 30th. He commented that the courts hold the restitution payments for two to three weeks before sending to us. Steve stated that we will receive the first payment and the second payment will be received two weeks later.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT:

Annual General Meeting: Steve announced that the EPYSA Annual General Meeting is scheduled for February 22nd & 23rd. He reminded clubs who are direct members that they must attend the meeting. He stated that missed meetings are fined and the fine increases each year the club does not send a representative.

EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT: No report.

VICE PRESIDENT OF BOYS: No report.

VICE PRESIDENT OF GIRLS: No report.

REGISTRAR’S REPORT: Christyna Berry asked clubs to send her an e-mail when they make changes in the system. She noted that she does not receive messages when clubs make changes to their rosters. Cindy reported that registration is open on the web-site. She commented that they hope to have more information on EPYSA’s plans after the general meeting.

Preliminary Team Counts: Cindy distributed copies of the preliminary team counts. She stated that LANCO’s teams are not included in the counts. Steve reviewed the counts (see attachment). Cindy shared that United Parish is looking for additional U12 girls. She instructed clubs to contact Tim Staub if they have interested players.

Team’s Paperwork: Cindy announced that final team counts are due February 5th and paperwork for new teams is due February 21st.

DIRECTOR OF SPORTSMANSHIP: No report.

REFEREE ASSIGNOR: No report.

REPORT OF COMMITTEES:

York Cup: Steve asked if there are any clubs who want to run a concession stand for York Cup. He commented that they could possibly have 65 teams at Cousler Park. He asked if anyone has an old refrigerator that can be taken to the field to contact him. Ken Mathias responded that the Panthers will man a stand. Tim Staub from United Parish commented that they can help Panthers run the stand. Cindy stated that it will probably take more than two clubs to run the two stands that are available. Chrystina commented that West York may be interested. Steve asked clubs to let him know as soon as possible if they want to run a stand. Cindy stated that she may reach out to high schools to see if they would want to man a stand. Steve reported this weekend he will be sending out 1,000 e-mail blast advertising York Cup. He added that we are only allowed to send 1,000 e-mails per day.

EPYSA: No report.

Scholarship: Steve reported that we plan to give two $500.00 scholarships this year. He stated that the Mick Geisinger Scholarship is for the boys and the Beth Hufnagel Scholarship is for the girls. He commented that the deadline for submission is March 1st. Steve shared that there will be five individuals reading the applications.

Nominating: Brandon Hufnagel presented the ballot: President: Steve Clever. Vice President of Boys: Jim Zimmerman. Secretary: Louise Batory. At Large Members: Derek Kline. Steve asked if there are any additional nominations. Brandon distributed the ballot and collected completed ballots. All nominees listed on the ballot were voted in.

OLD BUSINESS: None

NEW BUSINESS:

Grants: Tim Staub shared that clubs who have a 501(c)3 can submit a grant application to Target. He commented that Target is switching their grants from NASCAR to soccer. He stated that the grant is $1,000.00 and encouraged clubs to apply.

Fundraiser: Steve reported that we will be participating again in the Buffalo Wild Wings fundraiser in May. He stated that YUSA receives 10% back from each purchase. He shared that East York, West York and Lancaster locations will be participating.

MEETINGS:

League: March 11th – 7:30 pm - Windsor Township Building

Executive Board: February 12th- 6:30 pm - Heritage Hills.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:03 p.m.
