He is a Dually Licensed and Certified Athletic Trainer who holds certifications with the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA), and is licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Allied Health Professionals. ?While attending Northeastern Andrew held internships at Babson College, Curry College and Harvard University. He also served as a Student Athletic Trainer with the Boston Blazers professional indoor lacrosse team from 1994-1996. Upon Graduation he was hired as a Staff Athletic Trainer by Sports and Physical Therapy Associates and as the Head Athletic Trainer for Emmanuel College and Boston Latin School where he worked from 1996-1998. In 1998 he made the transition from the collegiate level to the high school level becoming the Head Athletic Trainer for Weston High School. Some of his other accolades include Head Athletic Trainer for the Division 3 North Sectional and State Wrestling Championships?from 1998 – 2005, Athletic Trainer for the New England Prep-School Wrestling Championships in 2003, Athletic Trainer for the Boston Marathon, Chase Corporate Challenge, State Farm Figure Skating Championship and the USA Indoor Track and Field Championships. Susan Guyer, DPE, ATC, LAT, CSCS Professor and Chair, Exercise Science and Sports Studies Department and Clinical Education Coordinator of the Athletic Training Program at Springfield College.Dr. Guyer is a Professor and Chair in the Exercise Science and Sports Studies Department and Clinical Education Coordinator of the Athletic Training Program at Springfield College. Dr. Guyer has presented nationally and internationally on various topics. Dr. Guyer has taught course in, Prevention of Athletic Injuries, Research Methods and Education, Athletic Injury Rehabilitation and Therapeutic Exercise, and Human. She is currently the coordinator of care for the?men's soccer, ?women's lacrosse, and women's ice hockey teams. Concannon?graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training from Westfield State University in 2012. Jenn received her Masters of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2014, while working as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for Smith College. Concannon is currently the Secretary for the Athletic Trainers of Massachusetts. She is a member of the NATA, EATA, and ATOM and licensed by the Massachusetts?Board of Allied Health.??'Tim Concannon is in his 3rd year working as Personal Trainer and Sports Performance Coach at the Weymouth Club. At the Weymouth Club Tim has started the Sports Performance Program and a program called "Special Strength" which helps to improve strength, motor skills and community integration of individuals with special needs. Concannon graduated with his Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training from Westfield State University in 2012. Following completion of his degree, he worked as a Strength and Conditioning intern for Mike Boyle. Eason earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Connecticut in athletic trainer, her Master’s Degree from James Madison University in nutrition and exercise science and her Doctoral Degree from the University of Connecticut in sport management. Dr.?Eason is currently employed as an assistant professor of athletic training and exercise science at Lasell College in Newton, Massachusetts where she teaches undergraduate students. She continues to work as a per diem athletic trainer, providing medical coverage to youth and secondary school sports.?Additionally, she continues to serve as a volunteer in the medical tents of the Boston Marathon.?Dr. Eason serves as a peer reviewer for the Journal of Athletic Training, and the International Journal of Athletic Therapy and Training. She has presented at numerous national, regional, and state?conferences, authored four textbook chapters?and has published more than 15 peer reviewed articles on topics including professional commitment, career intentions,?organizational structure, and mentoring within athletic training. Chad has presented on clinical education topics at national and regional professional conferences.F.Acute Management of Cervical Spine Injuries Athletes Presenter: Erica McElroy, MS, ATC, LAT Athletic Trainer, Boston University Erica (Shaya) McElroy joined Boston University in the summer of 2008 and currently coordinates care for the men and women’s lacrosse teams and is also a preceptor in the BU Undergraduate Athletic Training Education Program.?Most recently, McElroy served as an assistant athletic trainer at Wellesley College from August 2004 until May 2008. During her time at Wellesley, she extended her teaching skills to Lasell College in Newton, MA, serving as an adjunct professor in the Department of Allied Health and Sports Studies. There, she taught Prevention and Care of Athletic Injuries and Kinesiology.?Prior to her stint at Wellesley, McElroy was a graduate assistant athletic trainer at James Madison University, working primarily with women's lacrosse, football and men's and women's track and field.?A Cherry Hill, N.J. native, McElroy earned her bachelor of science in athletic training from the University of Delaware in 2002, before completing a master of science at James Madison University in kinesiology/athletic administration in 2004.?McElroy is certified as an athletic trainer by the National Athletic Training Association Board of Certification and licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Allied Health. He oversees 62 municipal substance abuse prevention programs partnered with over 192 cities and towns across the Commonwealth that utilize evidence-based environmental strategies focused on underage drinking prevention, overdose prevention, and prescription drug misuse and abuse prevention. His efforts for the last 8 years have been focused primarily on addressing the opioid crisis in Massachusetts. He is also responsible for managing the statewide prevention technical assistance center - the Massachusetts Technical Assistance Partnership for Prevention (MassTAPP), which supports both BSAS-funded and non-funded prevention work across the state. Fernando has had a varied professional background and is a Certified Prevention Specialist with extensive experience in Substance Abuse Prevention. Ackerman, MD, MPH is an internist, endocrinologist, and sports medicine physician, and is the medical director of the Female Athlete Program in the Division of Sports Medicine at Boston Children's Hospital. Her interests include female athletes, rowing injuries, endocrinology, female athlete triad, optimizing performance and health in athletes with diabetes, exercise-associated hyponatremia, and exercise and bone health in adolescent and young adult athletes.??Dr. Ackerman’s interests in clinical care and education involve the merging disciplines of sports medicine and endocrinology, while advancing the science and understanding of these interwoven specialties. She is a former national team lightweight rower, a team physician for US Rowing, an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, and the course director for the Female Athlete Conference, held biannually at Boston Children's Hospital. ................
