The State End of Course (EOC) Test will be given toward the end of Algebra 1 in May. It is comprehensive, meaning that it will cover most State Standards in Algebra 1.Tests and Retests: Will count 85% of the student’s grade.Prepare and study for each test and you will not have to worry about retests.? Lack of preparation leads to more work in the long run.? Do it right the first time! If you earn less than 70% in any section on a test, you will be provided a remediation assignment for the failed section that must be completed and checked by me as well as all homework for that section completed before you can complete a retest.? Retests/tutoring is available before school each morning at 7:00 am or during lunch on Tuesday, Wednesday or Fridays.? You can earn a maximum of 70% on a retest. After School tutoring is available by appointment.There may be Teams or Edgenuity online assignments to reinforce new skills or for remediation.? ? Quizzes…May be used in the final grade calculation. Homework…Will be checked in class or collected and marked for completion and mastery of the topic. Homework will count 0% toward the final grade, but parents will be notified when students are missing homework. Classroom Rules and Procedures:Be in your seat ready to learn before the tardy bell rings.Refrain from talking while instruction is taking place.Turn in class work/homework the next school day.Drinks and small snacks are permitted, but with tops on drinks and are not to be distractions.Cell Phones are to be put away unless being used for an assignment. A few notes about myself:I have been teaching Math at all levels for about ten years, off and on, combined with experience in the private sector. This is my first year at SHHS and I take great pride in this school. My education was completed at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
