Ian Belbin
The League are saddened to hear of the sudden death of Ian Belbin. Ian was a Broughton player for many years when the club shared a genuine rivalry with Stockbridge. He had the pleasure of scoring a hat trick at the Recreation Ground when his Broughton team won 5-2 .
The other Broughton goals scored by his son. In more recent years he was a regular visitor at the REC ground when he supported his son Marc as he managed Stockbridge’s successful youth side- which contained his grandson Ross, their current club captain. Ian would be pitch side most weekends watching any one of his grandsons, Ross, Jamie and Finn playing for their respective teams.
It is a happy coincidence that Stockbridge hosted Broughton on 1st August in their first preseason fixture and both clubs were able to pay their respects on Ian with a minutes applause at the start of the game.
Gary Pratt
Gary who has been the stalwart behind the cup competitions at Hampshire FA for several seasons has decided to move to pastures new. Well known to all and a genuine football person, Hampshire FA’s loss is someone elses gain and I’m sure he’s helped you all out sometime in the past.
All the best Gary and thank you for all your help over the years.
