There are many locations in USA and Canada to visit while you are attending the Foote Family Association of America, Inc 2011 Reunion at Niagara Falls, NY. All of our planned reunion activities will be held in USA.

Niagara Falls State Park, the oldest state park in the nation, was established in 1885 and designed by the noted landscape architect, Frederick Law Olmsted. The park, which includes Goat Island and several other small islands, is located next to Niagara Falls, NY, USA. Information about Niagara Falls State Park can be seen on .

The hotel is two short blocks from the park. Most of the sites are within easy walking distance. For your convenience, there is a trolley for $2.00/day that will take you to all the park site areas. Old Fort Niagara near Youngstown is a place to step back in time and see what life was like for soldiers in the 1700s. The fort’s French Castle is the oldest structure in the Great Lakes region. Information about the great view and adventures on the Canadian side can be seen on ; plus a visit to Niagara-On-The Lake is outstanding. Information about duty free allowances is shown on dutyfree.ca . Perhaps several Foote groups would like to get together to explore Canada, either before or after the reunion. The Rainbow Bridge between the two countries can be driven or walked. You will need a passport or NYS enhanced driver’s license for travel between USA and Canada.

Near by Buffalo, NY, there are interesting sites to see and visit. They include, The Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural National Historical Site that is one of only six presidential inaugural sites outside of Washington, DC.; the Darwin Martin House that was built by noted architect Frank Lloyd Wright; the Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society is one of the country’s oldest historical societies and is housed in the only remaining structure from the 1901 Pan-American Exposition; the Naval & Military Park that includes World War II destroyer USS Sullivans (DD-537), named after five brothers who were all killed while serving during World War II, World War II Cleveland class light cruiser, USS Little Rock (CL-92, later CLG-4) that was converted to a guided missile cruiser, World War II submarine USS Croaker (SS-246, later SSK-246) and exhibits. At this same waterfront one can see the remaining grain storage silos that made Buffalo famous in Great Lakes shipping along with the view of the Erie Canal outlet to the Buffalo River and Lake Erie.
