JUMPING

2019-20

We are delighted to launch Hot To Trot Jumping for the upcoming 2019/2020 National Hunt Season. We are very excited about our NEW team of Horses and their Trainers and hope they can provide plenty of fun on and off the track this season!

When we first launched Hot To Trot for the Flat in 2011,

we hoped to bring together a group of racing enthusiasts in order to have as much fun at an affordable cost and to provide great value. While our low cost model requires us to attain a critical mass number of members to race this quantity of horses, we are also mindful of wanting

to maintain the close knit atmosphere within the group. As such, there will once again be a maximum of 80 members this season. All of the horses are leased from their owners/breeders and have been hand-selected

by Luke and Sam.

Wishing you a fun and successful season ahead!

Sam Hoskins and Luke Lillingston

BLACK TULIP

2012 chesnut mare Black Sam Bellamy / Coombe Florey

To be trained by Henry Daly, Ludlow. 50% lease.

BLACK TULIP is a daughter of BLACK SAM BELLAMY, the Group 1 winning own-brother to GALILEO and half-brother to SEA THE STARS. On the dam's side, she is a half-sister to two smart hurdlers in MEET THE LEGEND and KAYFLEUR. A two-time winner of hurdles, Black Tulip took well to chasing last season, finishing placed twice over fences on Cheltenham's hallowed turf. We are hoping to return to Cheltenham this season with her!

Henry Daly has trained over 600 winners and is based at the stunning Downton Hall Stables in Shropshire since 1998, where he took over from Captain Tim Forster. These winners include three at the Cheltenham Festival, two Liverpool Hurdles, a Welsh National and winners of Grade 1 races at Ascot, Cheltenham, Liverpool, Aintree, Wetherby and Kempton.

DREWMAIN LEGEND

2012 bay mare Midnight Legend / Ryders Hill

To be trained by Ali Stronge, Lambourn. 50% lease.

DREWMAIN LEGEND is by the amazing late MIDNIGHT LEGEND, who was a very talented flat horse and hurdler himself, and who is responsible for numerous top class chasers including Gold Cup winner SIZING JOHN. Out of a ZAFFARAN mare, Drewmain Legend was always bred to be a better chaser than hurdler and indeed shed her Novice tag over the larger obstacles when showing a great attitude to win at Chepstow in April. A scopey filly, `DL' is capable of further progress this term especially when the mud is flying in the depths of winter!

Sam and Ali Stronge are based at Castle Piece Stables in Lambourn and are one of the newest, most exciting young training couples around. Having only held their licence since May 2013, they have already amassed an impressive haul of winners on the board under both codes. They were also responsible for providing HTT with their first National Hunt winner when DREWMAIN LEGEND won at Chepstow in April!

TRINCOMALEE

2013 bay gelding Malinas / Royal Tango

To be trained by Lucy Wadham, Newmarket. 50% lease.

TRINCOMALEE is by the German Derby runner-up MALINAS who is a leading jumps stallion with the likes of AMERICAN, BLACK THUNDER and MEDINAS flying his flag. Trincomalee shaped promisingly on his bumper debut in October last season before sustaining a minor injury that kept him off until May. Thankfully, the wait was well worth it as he came `from the clouds' to win a competitive looking bumper impressively at Warwick. A fine scopey sort, he is an exciting prospect for Novice Hurdles this season.

Lucy Wadham is the leading Newmarketbased National Hunt trainer and has saddled the likes of UNITED (Grade 1 winner) and EL DANCER (Grade 2 winner) as well as numerous Graded Stakes winners on the level.

LILLY PEDLAR

2015 bay filly Yeats / Mathine

To be trained by Nicky Henderson, Lambourn. 100% lease.

LILLY PEDLAR is by legendary multiple Ascot Gold Cup winner YEATS and out of a half-sister to none other than Cheltenham Gold Cup winner LONG RUN (also trained by Nicky!) so she is bred to be smart! `Lilly' shaped with plenty of promise on her sole `bumper' start at Bangor in April and Nicky Henderson is confident she can win a bumper this autumn before going hurdling.

Nicky Henderson needs no introduction as the five times Champion National Hunt Trainer. His Seven Barrows base in Lambourn has delivered the likes of SEE YOU THEN, LONG RUN, BOB'S WORTH, BINOCULAR, REMITTANCE MAN and PUNJABI to Championship Race glory at the Cheltenham Festival and his handling of mares is exemplary.

FEODORA

2015 bay filly Kayf Tara / La Harde

To be trained by Toby Lawes, Dorking. 100% lease.

FEODORA is by the brilliant Ascot Gold Cup winner KAYF TARA who is a wonderful National Hunt Sire, siring the likes of THISTLECRACK and SPECIAL TIARA amongst many others. This filly is a full-sister to a bumper winner and is out of a half-sister to the very smart and black type mare KERADA. Feodora was 2nd in a point-to-point on debut last season for Francesca Nimmo before slipping up on a bend when going easily in a bumper at Stratford on her rules debut. A good-looking filly, she is likely to have another run in a bumper before going Novice Hurdling this season.

Toby Lawes embarks on his first season with a licence this term, having taken the job as retained trainer at Andrew Wates's Henfold Stables near Dorking, where Andrew's own Grand National winner ROUGH QUEST was trained (by Terry Casey). Toby has a fine CV, having been assistant to none other than Nicky Henderson for the past few years and is well-known for his handling of the mighty ALTIOR away from the racecourse.

UNNAMED

2015 bay filly Yeats / Saucy Present

To be trained by Philip Hobbs, Minehead. 100% lease.

This unnamed filly is by legendary multiple Ascot Gold Cup winner YEATS who has produced the likes of 2018 JLT Novices Chase winning mare SHATTERED LOVE at stud to date. The dam, SAUCY PRESENT, has already produced the top class ORDINARY WORLD, placed in a numerous Graded Chases including at Grade 1 level. This is the family of fellow top class chasers OTTOWA and CALLING BRAVE.

UNNAMED

2016 bay filly Fame And Glory / Sounds Familiar

To be trained by Warren Greatrex, Lambourn. 100% lease.

This unnamed filly is by another Ascot Gold Cup winner in FAME AND GLORY who was also 2nd in SEA THE STARS' Epsom Derby. Sadly now deceased, Fame And Glory appears to be a great loss to the National Hunt stallions ranks having made a hugely exciting start at stud with his first runners. This filly is a half-sister to the Listedplaced bumper horse ALVERSTONE and, as just a 3yo, will join her trainer in the New Year.

Philip Hobbs has been one of the leading National Hunt trainers in the country for many years, having started training in 1985. He has so far trained nearly 3000 winners and has been in the top 6 trainers for the past two decades with the likes of ROOSTER BOOSTER, FLAGSHIP UBERALLES and MENORAH flying the flat for his Sandhill Stables base near Minehead.

Warren Greatrex is based at the historic Uplands Stables in Lambourn. Formerly a salaried trainer to Malcolm Denmark, Warren's handling of Grade 1 winners Cole Harden and La Bague Au Roi during his short career to date have marked him out as one of the rising stars in the National Hunt training ranks.
