Dear NJHS Applicant:

Thank you for your interest in National Junior Honor Society. Students who have been at GMS for at least one full semester and who have attained a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 and received no “N’s” or “U’s” in conduct are eligible for membership in the NJHS.

The NJHS is the leader among organizations and societies that promote appropriate recognition for students who reflect outstanding accomplishments in the areas of scholarship, character, leadership, citizenship, and service. If chosen as a member of the NJHS, students will be responsible for maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.5, conduct of all “S’s”, completing community service hours both inside and outside of school, and attending required meetings. Please consider when applying for NJHS, that the meetings and community service hour requirements are necessary for membership.

Please review the enclosed membership responsibilities carefully. For further consideration of membership, please complete the requested information and return to Ms. McMahon’s classroom (214) by Friday, October 12th. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS DEADLINE!! The front office will not accept application forms.

Academically qualified candidates shall be evaluated in areas of character, service, leadership, and citizenship. Final selection of the members is made by a group of at least five appointed teachers at Glades. Candidates will be notified of their selection by letter delivered to their 1st hour class.

Sincerely,
