Introduction

The Skills Development Mission (SDM) is a non-denominational, non-profit multi-ethnic Christian organization. SDM has a clear vision to reach the underprivileged individuals, especially the youth, with basic skill training that will empower them to be self sufficient and responsible citizens of their communities. SDM organizes short-term skills training

mission in the localities where such a training is of relevance to local communities in the United States and in the global villages of Africa, the Caribbean and South America.

The big picture for SDM is to involve many American Christians in Cross-Cultural Ministry efforts. Of a truth, quite a few Christians in North America are exposed to what God is doing among the poorest of poor neighborhoods and nations. The time has come to bridge the gap between Christians across all works of life and social strata for a well-balanced society. With technology and life survival skills, SDM will provide a forum to interface between the skillful and the unskilled for a global harvest. Being inspired by the clear illustration given by our Lord

Jesus that unfruitfulness in the life of a Christian comes as a result of cares and wants of this life on the one hand for those who do not have skills to put bread on the table and pay rents, and excesses of riches on the other hand for those who have acquired so much wealth that they are

so concerned about their possessions, SDM intends to help both to approach that fertile soil that produces harvest in 30, 60, and 100 folds. All the participants will be mutually edified! Those who provide the resources and the training from USA will be enriched and exposed to the depth and riches of the prayer atmosphere in poor communities and developing nations of African, the Caribbean and South America. Yes, there will be mutual building up in addition to a variety of life transformations that occur in the presence of the God!

SDM will acquire older and new generation computers and sewing machines through donations by individuals, businesses, and organizations that have excess items that idle away in store rooms and garages. Based on well-coordinated efforts and financial help from donors, SDM will provide the much needed avenue to train and empower those in need so that they can fend for themselves.

There is no better time than now to reach out to those we hope to help because of the global citizenry that our world is turning into. The war on terrorism must be fought with better efficient weapons of love and enlightenment extended to those who can easily fall prey to the lures

provided by the terrorists for better life when being recruited. It is common knowledge that drug barrons are mostly young adults that are unskilled to fend for themselves other wise. Therefore, it is safe to contend the poverty stricken lives of young adults in any far away community in our global village affect the lives of the affluent in the USA.
