Nonprofit Network Executive Director Job DescriptionJob PurposeThe Executive Director is responsible for the successful leadership and management of the organization, according to the strategic direction set by the Board.Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesLeadershipPartner with the Board in developing a mission, vision, values, and strategic plan to guide the organization Foster a high functioning team environment with the Board and the Executive Director and between the Executive Director and staff Embody and model the values of the organization, which are Diversity and Inclusion, Integrity, Respect, and Continuous LearningOperational Planning and ManagementOversee the efficient and effective day-to-day operation of the organization Draft appropriate policies for the approval of the Board and prepare procedures to implement the organizational policies; review existing policies on an annual basis and recommend changes to the Board as appropriate Program Planning and ManagementDevelop and ensure that the programs and services offered by the organization achieve the organization's mission, vision, values and reflect the priorities of the Board Monitor the delivery of the programs and services of the organization to maintain or improve quality Human Resources Planning and ManagementDetermine staffing requirements for organizational management and excellent program delivery Establish a positive, healthy and safe work environment in accordance with all appropriate legislation and regulations Financial Planning and Management Work with staff and the Board (Finance Committee) to prepare and implement a comprehensive budget Research funding sources, oversee the development of fund raising plans and write funding proposals to increase the funds of the organization Provide the Board with comprehensive, regular reports on the revenues and expenditure of the organization Community Relations/AdvocacyCommunicate with stakeholders to keep them informed of the work of the organization and to identify changes in the community served by the organization Establish good working relationships and collaborative arrangements with community groups, funders, politicians, and other organizations to help achieve the goals of the organization Represent the organization at community activities to enhance the organization’s community profileNonprofit Network’s Board approved this policy on 07/25/2019.
