(Clinical coverage of residents, dental students, financial goals (increase revenue), hiring of faculty (without burdening the School of Dentistry), contribute to the financial health of the school.Increased clinical productivity at the dental school ( doubled the revenue) and the university hospital. Expansion of practice, scope, improved quality of patient care, tremendous decrease in patient complications, complete coverage of residents and dental students at all times.Re-negotiated UH hospital contacts and increased the revenue to the School of Dentistry by approximately 60 % (No other dental department chairs or Oral surgery chair has done this before). This is especially in the midst of state budget cuts.Negotiated contracts, established services with Louisiana Prison system and SOM Telemedicine Clinic for OMFS servicesCatalogued instruments, devices and objects lost in Katrina. Arbitrated and approved on behalf of the School of Dentistry for the replacement of the Catalogued instruments.Design, plan with architects, write reasons and recommendations for the new Clinic spaces at The new University Hospital, St. Charles Clinic space, the Oral Surgery space and the accredited Ambulatory Clinic space for the Annex building. Develop a new business plan for faculty practice, so all the faculty would have a similar practice plan that is consistent in meeting the clinical and education objectives.Increased interactivity and collaborative clinical work with the other dental departments (Pros, Perio and general dentistry departments)Encouraged, created environments for increased interaction between the Oral Surgery faculty, residents and the dental students. This increased the interest reflected by the interest in the number of candidates applying to OMS residency. Hired two new faculty for coverage of the school and hospital (Drongowski and Welch) Fields of interest:Complex Maxillofacial trauma (Pediatric and Adult)Craniofacial and Orthognathic surgery Obstructive sleep apnea surgeryTrans-orbital and frontal cranial base neurosurgical accesses Facial Reconstructive surgeryPublications Peer Reviewed:Developing and standardizing a center to treat cleft and craniofacial anomalies in a developing country like India.
