Delegates will, prior to the event, be allocated to a breakout group chaired by a member of the HGRG in which to reflect on their own interests and work. Through these groups the theme of the session will be discussed. A PHG 2020 workshop PDF workbook will be available to all delegates to support discussions in both workshop sessions. It will have space in it to make notes for the use of delegates after PHG 2020 finishes and provides additional reading / references for further engagement beyond these sessions. .14:50Conclusions and action points for session 2 (10 mins)The reading matter for the following session in 2 weeks’ time will be introduced and shared (via website / chat). Taking a decolonising historical approach – what does this mean? What might this look like for individual research? What does this mean for wider connections and work across academic research practice?13:50Keynote (TBC) (45 min + 10 min Q&A)Reflections on decolonising and anti-racist historical geography work: practical strategies. 14:45Final reflections and concluding of PHG 2020 (15 mins)Housekeeping notes Housekeeping concerning code of conduct protocols for this year’s PHG conference will be expanded upon in greater detail in the more comprehensive delegate document. Please be assured that this is a safe space for all participants and delegates. Registration2020 is a challenging time, and in an attempt to ensure that as many historical geographers are able to attend, these two sessions will be run without registration fee to delegates. However, in order to organise the events, it is requested that all delegates register via the Eventbrite registration page by 4pm on November 23rd 2020. To ensure that these sessions run in a safe manner, we ask that only people who are registered attend.Recordings of keynote presentations will be made available after the event along with the wider readings referenced to ensure that those unable to attend have the option to revisit materials discussed. Workshop sessions WILL NOT be recorded to ensure a safe space in which delegates are able to explore, converse and learn.
