Using spin browser technology, guests investigate the diversity of animal and plant life living within various habitats through high definition underwater footage. Graphics help illustrate the journey and explain how everyone in Ithaca affects the health of these amazing habitats and their inhabitants through their daily actions. Thanks to local cinematographer, David Brown, guests get up close and personal with often unseen environments and wildlife below the water’s surface. Encounter crayfish, water snakes, seals, shipwrecks and more. Guests have full control of their journey; they can slow footage, rewind, or jump ahead to take a closer look in this rare underwater experience. “Ithaca’s Watershed Journey” is made possible by a grant from the Park Foundation and is the first of many new exhibit experiences to be added in the Sciencenter’s updated Ocean Gallery. The Sciencenter inspires excitement for science through interactive exhibits and programs that engage, educate and empower. The hands-on museum offers guests of all ages more than 250 exhibits, educational programs, a gift shop, and seasonal outdoor science park.
