Office Title: Project Development Coordinator for Capital Projects Civil Service Title: Community Coordinator Title Code No: 56058 Level: NA Salary: $52,524 - $81,535 Number of Positions: 1 Work Location: Olmsted Center, Queens

Major Responsibilities

Under general direction, with wide latitude for independent initiative and judgment, assist team leader and/or director with the management of Capital Division design and construction projects.

Track project schedules from funding inception through design, procurement, construction and close-out. Advise the team leader and/or director of missed milestones for action.

Diligently monitor Unifier (the division's project management software) for missed tasks and incomplete information. Promptly notify managers of deficiencies. Prepare Unifier reports as necessary for team, chiefs and borough review.

Serve as a liaison to other internal units, including the Borough Commissioner, Forestry, Survey, Environmental Remediation, Fiscal Management, Contracts Assurance/Metrics, Architecture/Engineering and Landscape Architecture.

Attend interagency meetings as directed by the team leader. Take notes and follow-up with the team. Monitor project funding during all phases. Ensure required action is taken if funding shortfalls are identified. Assist with the implementation of agency initiatives. Ensure long-range and overall program goals are followed and

implemented. Leverage problem solving skills to identify key issues/questions at the beginning of the project. Work closely with high-level staff to develop, manage and evaluate high priority initiatives. Assist the team leader and directors with other tasks and projects as requested.

Qualification Requirements

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or

2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or

3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.

Residency in New York City, Nassau, Orange, Rockland, Suffolk, Putnam or Westchester counties required for employees with over two years of city service. New York City residency required within 90 days of hire for all other candidates.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications

1. Experience in project management, procurement, construction or construction-related services, or professional, technical or administrative experience in contract management.

2. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, customer service and presentation skills. 3. Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment. 4. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access. 5. Valid New York State driver license.
