Job Description:

The DFTA My Ride (DMR) Community Recruiter will work closely with the Outreach Manager to recruit the target number of clients (both older New Yorkers and disabled New Yorkers aged 18 and above) and enroll them in the program. The primary duties and responsibilities of the Community Recruiter include, but are not limited to:

Recruitment and Enrollment: Conducting outreach in participating communities to recruit older New Yorkers and disabled New Yorkers 18 and older. Assisting applicants with completing the application. Making on site visits to community referral sources such as, but not limited to, senior centers, case management agencies, home care agencies, hospitals, doctor's offices, nursing homes, and other community service agencies. Reviewing applications for completeness and following-up with applicants to secure missing documentation.

Data Entry: Entering client application data into the client tracking system. Assisting the Outreach Manager with ensuring that rider profiles are set-up with the transportation provider.

*Non-City rate. **City incumbent rate. Minimum Qualifications:

1. High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or

2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.

Preferred Skills: Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multiple internal and external stakeholders. Strong ability to prioritize take initiative. Ability to effectively prepare and present project presentations to a variety of audiences; experience in marketing/recruitment a plus. Ability to assist with processing large volumes of applications.
