The Multi-Subject CST measures knowledge in

three different fields: literacy and English

language arts, mathematics, and arts and

sciences.

From the Multi-Subject CST Framework:

? ¡°This assessment consists of three parts, administered

as three separate tests.¡±

? ¡°Parts One and Two each consist of selectedresponse items and one extended constructedresponse item. Part Three consists of selectedresponse items only.¡±

? Teachers of Early Childhood (Birth-Grade 2)

? Teachers of Childhood (Grade 1-Grade 6)

? Teachers of Middle Childhood (Grade 5Grade 9)

? Secondary Teachers (Grade 7-Grade 12)

Candidates must pass each sub-part separately

Students now must take and pass the CST specific

to their certification area.

? Early childhood/childhood dual certification

students will need to pass 2 CSTs

? Part 3 is consistent across all exams and only

needs to be passed once

Secondary Special Education Generalist

candidates must pass the 7-12 CST to become

certified
