Licensing Requirements for

Family Child Care Homes and

Large Child Care Homes

Effective Date 1/31/2018

FOREWORD

Licensing requirements govern child care facilities in the State of Oklahoma.

These rules are minimum requirements for the care and protection of children in

care outside their own homes. They were developed by Oklahoma Department

of Human Services (DHS) Child Care Services with input from individuals from

various professions with expertise in child care, including providers; the Child

Care Advisory Committee; and the public. The requirements were approved by

the DHS Director and the Governor of the State of Oklahoma pursuant to the

Oklahoma Administrative Procedures Act.

It is the intent of DHS that licensing requirements are clear, reasonable, fair and

enforceable. In the interest of serving the public, comments are welcomed and

will be considered for future revisions or development of new requirements.
