We are a community that connects people to their purpose through relationships and opportunity.The CommunityThe Reeds Spring School District is located in southwest Missouri, near Branson, the popular tourist destination. We are a consolidated school district. Our school buildings are located in Reeds Spring, but the district includes students from Branson West, Cape Fair, Reeds Spring and Kimberling City. We are in Stone County and the Tri-Lakes Area, made up of Bull Shoals Lake, Table Rock Lake, and Lake Taneycomo. There are approximately 2000 students in our K-12 school system. The district includes a primary, elementary, intermediate, middle, and high school. In addition, Reeds Spring District includes the Gibson Technical Center, the Strohm Early Childhood Center, and the New Horizons Alternative School. The SchoolReeds Spring High School is an accredited four-year public high school enrolling students in grades 9 through 12. The current Reeds Spring High School campus was constructed in 1997. Additions were made to the school in 2002 and 2011. The high school uses PLC time to collaboratively look at instruction and how students can better be served. In 2013, the high school implemented the 1:1 initiative. Every high school student has use of a personal laptop device to improve hands-on learning. In 2016 we implemented a Flex-Mod schedule for all grades to increase flexibility in learning and professional development as well as to allow students to explore interest and strengths. Students can earn a maximum of 3.5 credits per semester and 7 credits per year. A minimum of 24 credits are required for graduation (College Prep Certificate-25 credits). In addition to the 7 academic courses, students attend a 70 minute student seminar one day per week. Our seminars topics are provided based on student interests. Students will also attend a Guided Study Hall for 30 minutes 4 days a week. Guided Study Hall is intended to assist students with failing grades by providing individual attention and instruction.
