(Your Harper College Application must already by on file.)Submit Additional DocumentationNote: Official documents are those sent directly from the institution to Harper College.Official High School Transcript OR GED Results - MANDATORY The final high school transcript must have the graduation date posted, or the GED report must show passing scores. The high school transcript is mandated by the State of Illinois through the Joint Committee of Administrative Rules.Applicants who have completed high school in another country need to submit a document-to-document evaluation of their high school transcript completed by Educational Credential Evaluators, INC (ECE) or World Education Services (WES) stating U.S. Equivalence: High school diploma.Official College Transcripts – You will need to submit transcripts from other colleges attended if the document(s) show completion of courses you think may fulfill course admission requirements or support course work applicable to the Harper College EMT-B Program.This requirement is not mandatoryForeign college transcripts must first be evaluated by World Education Services () or Educational Credential Evaluators, INC (). A copy of the completed course-by-course WES or ECE evaluation must be submitted to the Harper College One Stop Center, Building A, Room A250.To learn if/how credits from other colleges will transfer to Harper, applicants must have an official transcript from each college or university attended sent to the Admissions Processing Office, Building A, room 137c. Official transcripts will be evaluated as they are received and students will receive an email to their Harper email account with transfer credit results.? Proof of Meeting the Minimum Age RequirementFall semester applicants must be at least 18 years of age by August 31. (No exceptions)Acceptable proof includes a driver’s license, passport, or state ID. The official high school transcript can also be used.Program Prerequisites Harper Grade Point AverageCurrent or previously enrolled Harper students must have a minimum 2.0 grade point average. Applicants who do not have a 2.0 grade point average will need to meet with an Advisor to determine if a waiver of GPA is appropriate. This waiver, if approved, does not remove the cumulative GPA and is only good for the semester for which you intend to register.English / Reading Placement – placement into ENG 101 at Harper College, or the equivalent from another college (as determined by the Harper College transcript evaluation).ACT English score of 19 or higher, and ACT Reading score of 20 or higher, orHarper College Writing/Reading Assessment Test resulting in placement into ENG 101 without a reading co-requisite, orENG 100 or higher level at Harper with a grade of “C” or better, orENG 101 transfer creditThere is no expiration date on the English Composition course requirement. All required documentation and program prerequisites will need to be completed in order to be able to continue in the program.Applicants who are complete by the deadline will receive an email with instructions on how to accept their seat and register for the classes, as well as information regarding the mandatory orientation.Incomplete applicants will receive an email with information regarding the orientation only; instructions for registration and seat acceptance will be sent after file completion.An email will be sent to the email address you have provided on the application. Important Admission NotesOnce your program application has been processed, you will be able to monitor your limited enrollment file online. Go to harpercollege.edu and log into your MyHarper Student Portal; limited enrollment information can be found under the Registration and Records section. It is the applicant’s responsibility to insure that all requirements are met and all documentation is on file.Applicants will be considered emergency medical technician-basic candidates after all required documents have been submitted and after satisfying the academic standing requirement. Students who apply for this limited enrollment program are obligated to meet current admission requirements and follow the program curriculum as defined at the time of acceptance into the program. If the program is open past the published deadline, any qualified applicant who submits an application after that date will be admitted in order of complete date after all qualified applicants who were complete by deadline. Although the program may remain open past the application deadline, the mandatory EMT orientation is held one week prior to the start of class, and all applicants MUST attend. Students who are accepted into the EMT-Basic program will be required to provide evidence of health insurance coverage and have a physical exam and several health screening tests prior to admission to clinical areas. In addition, accepted students will be required to undergo a criminal background check.
