Dr. Yong-Jin Yoon joined Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) as an Assistant Professor in January, 2010. He obtained Ph.D. degree in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University. He studied Mechanical Engineering at Korea University as his undergraduate study. From 2000 to 2002, he found internet solution and online game company in South Korea. From 2003, he has been working in OtoBiomechanics Group at Stanford as his doctoral study working in the fields of hearing mechanics. During his Ph.D., he also obtained Masters degree in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Stanford as a depth of MEMS and Signal Processing. In OtoBiomechanics group at Stanford Universality, he has been working on the inner- and middle-ear biomechanics, auditory technologies, surgical simulations, μCT and MR imaging. At Stanford University, he has been working with Dr. Charles R. Steele, Professor of Aerospace and Aeronautics/Mechanical Engineering Department at Stanford, and Dr. Sunil Puria, Associate Consulting Professor of Mechanical Engineering/Otolaryngology – Head, Neck Surgery Medical School at Stanford. His current research at NTU includes biomimetic electroacoustic MEMS transducer, psychoacoustic neuroscience, bio-chemical MEMS sensor, medical device, and surgical simulation.
