PRESS RELEASEMoscow, 2 April 2019The largest Russian exhibition of building and finishing materials MosBuild to open at Crocus Expo on April 2In the year of its 25th anniversary, Russia’s largest international exhibition of building and finishing materials MosBuild will be held at Crocus Expo, the largest exhibition centre in Eastern Europe. Moving to Crocus Expo contributed to MosBuild’s further development and expansion: the exhibition got a convenient linear arrangement format and this year’s business programme events are integrated directly into exhibition halls.In 2019, the exhibition will host more than 1,200 companies from 40 countries. More than 300 new companies will present novelty products. Spain, Italy, Portugal, Latvia, Taiwan, Serbia, Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Finland will present their national expositions. This year, MosBuild exhibitors will include 58% of Russian companies and 42% of foreign ones. The total display area is close to 100,000 sq. meters. The ceramics sector is coming back to MosBuild. Unitile, Italon, Laminam, Nefrit Keramika, Cersanit and some others will present their collections.The window technology section will reappear featuring the largest companies in this segment, such as VEKA, REHAU, Deceuninck, ROTA, SIEGENIA, Exprof and many others. The total area of the window exposition is about 6,000m2. Apart from their wide product lines, the exhibitors will present unique energy saving innovations, smart solutions and the latest engineering solutions in the areas of window technologies and building materials, panoramic glazing technologies and many more.MosBuild 2019 will last for 4 days and provide a real opportunity for designers to get acquainted with suppliers and study the features of materials, while suppliers will share how to use materials to make them look eye-catching in the interior and to extend their life.Russian and foreign participants prepared specially for MosBuild a presentation of all-new products from their collections, developed in collaboration with world-class designers. The LAUFEN booth will display the latest collection of bathroom items created by the famous Dutch designer Marcel Wanders. A new wallpaper collection created by the Russian fashion designer Valentin Yudashkin and embodied by Emiliana Parati, a premium Italian factory, will be showcased at the SOLO booth.Visitors to the MosBuild anniversary exhibition will enjoy an unprecedented world-class business programme. This year, the content programme will include 90 business events with 240 speakers.Headliners of the MosBuild business programme for designers and architects: Marcel Wanders, a Dutch "new era" designer coming to Moscow at the invitation of LAUFEN; Sebastian Herkner, designer of the year according to Maison & Objet; architect Pero Puljiz, winner of prestigious awards; interior designer and industrial designer Francesc Rifé; Christos Passas, executive director of Zaha Hadid Architects; Italian architect Francesco Pappalardo; and other international architecture and design celebrities.This year, numerous interactive content platforms will be arranged across MosBuild’s space, which will allow experts and visitors to share opinions, secure new business contacts and develop their creative potential. The famous Russian architect Boris Uborevich-Borovsky will present the Perfect Home project – a real house of 400 sq. m at the exhibition site, which will be created by 10 leading Russian designers and decorators: Diana Balashova, Zhenya Zhdanova, Tatiana Gorshkova, Oleg Klodt, Elena Solovieva, Svetlana Arefieva, Pavel Zheleznov, Anna Muravina, Ilona Menshakova and Irina Markidonova. Materials from the exhibitors and partners of MosBuild will be used in the house. A unique project, VR Space, by Diana Balashova will be implemented at the 2019 exhibition for the first time. This is a virtual house where a visitor can feel like a real designer: having put on a VR helmet, he gets into the design space where he can implement his ideas and select any interior style by changing finishing materials, their colours and textures, and by choosing the best combinations. The "virtual reality" concept was created under the project of Diana Balashova, a famous designer and the exhibition ambassador. The architectural concept’s author is Arsen Orekhov, and the project is carried out in virtual space by Vislab Studio under the supervision of Vitaly Skripnik. The events will be organised again in formats that have proven themselves to be successful last year: DIY forum, design battles, Talk Design, Know-How Café, discussions, workshops, and contests for young designers. The Architectural Forum will be held for the second time to discuss how consumers, authorities, developers, and architects see modern housing, and what housing formats will be sought-after in the years to come. The forum will end with a case show as part of a joint project with arch: speech.Provision will also be made for new formats, such as the “Low-Rise City” forum that will be held for the first time and whose programme includes foresight sessions involving developers, consultants, urban planners and architects, expert sessions on legal regulation and a case conference on the use of solutions, technologies and materials in low-rise construction.On 2 April at 12.00, MosBuild’s Architectural lecture hall will host the opening of the “ArchiGraphics - 5 years” exhibition. It will present the works by the winners and prize-winners over the five years of the International Contest of Architectural Drawing that has been held since 2013 under the sponsorship of the Choban Foundation – the Museum of Architectural Drawing in Berlin, with the support of Chief Architect of Moscow Sergey Kuznetsov, the Union of Architects of Russia, the Union of Moscow Architects, the Yakov Chernikhov Foundation, and in partnership with LAUFEN (Roca Group). The architectural lecture hall will open with Sergey Choban’s lecture “Drawing Modern Architecture”.The building innovations area in Pavilion 2 is a content platform that will present future construction technologies to visitors and will host workshops by major manufacturers of building and finishing materials and presentations of new construction technology solutions made by start-ups and the Passive House Institute.The building innovations area will host the first stage of SPACE 2.0, a large-scale project of MosBuild and industrial designer Vladimir Pirozhkov. On 3 April, Vladimir will deliver an unprecedented open lecture on the space of the future: what innovative materials and technologies will be trendy in the near future. Interviews with key speakers of the exhibition and thematic workshops by the International School of Design (IDS) will be taking place on the MosBuild TV by ESTIMA Ceramica creative content platform throughout the exhibition period. The studio concept was developed in collaboration with the architecture firm A&M Production (Italy) and sponsored by ESTIMA Ceramica, a recognized leading manufacturer of domestic ceramic granite. First-class industry professionals will discuss digital trends and share lifehacks in creating a personal brand and using social networks for efficient promotion. The stage for open live interviews will feature all MosBuild’s celebrities. Evgenia Mikulina and Victor Dembovsky will be interviewers.
