It is an open source web based bug tracking system. As MANTIS is a bug tracker, the used object is called “Issue” in the tool, but as it may not be an issue, we will call it “Demand”, that is a more general term.Your request will follow the following typical workflow:Creation by a key-user or a business process owner (user type reporter)Evaluation (workload and cost) by IT staff (user type developer)Can be approved by business process owner (user type reporter)Treated by IT staff (user type developer)Receipt and closed by the requesterBased on the IT evaluation, IT team will be able to estimate the date of delivery of the request and the requester will be informed about. In order to keep up to date the backlog, IT staff working on a request will book the time spent and update the remaining time todo. This document is an additional document to “Business_User_Manuel” for IT users working on the resolution of the requests. The prerequisite is to read the business manual. The additional functionalities to the business activities in Mantis are :At ticket levelWorkload evaluation and Tasks Assignments to a personAt user levelUser types3 User types are used for IT people with different access rights.DevelopersTickets information exchanges with requesters and other stakeholdersWorkload estimation + Own workloadTime spent bookingManagersSame as developers +Access on other developers dataBillingUser managementAdministratorsManagement of Mantis (projects and users)Account managementWhen you click on “My account”, you can manage your user.CAUTION : Do not change fields “Customer” and “IT Team” that are managed by the system administrator. Some parameters are requested in order to compute the developer possible workload. You need to manage those parameters in the “preferences” tab of this page.2.1 By developers:You have to manage your unavailability periods so that the workload calculation remove those periods.2.2 By managers / Administrators:14606269049500Hourly rate is used for billing.Works hours per day need to be filled for IT users and will be used to compute their availabilityWorkload and Tasks distribution. The following subscreens are accessible in the ticket starting the developer user type.(Before issue history)The 2 subscreens present 4 tasks type we have identified at BDR to follow and organize our IT activities. The both subscreens need to be filled in order to manage workload and be able to register the time spent.Be careful, each subscreen has its own “update” button to be used separately. On the left subscreen (Time registration)For each task identified as relevant for the ticket. The developer or the manager enters one time its workload estimation in column “Est” and optionally also in column “Todo” if different from Est.The “Est” column represents the estimation that could later be compared to the real time spent. The “Todo” column represents the current remaining time to be spent on the activity. When Est is entered, Todo is initialized with Est value if no specific value entered for Todo.It can be updated there during a ticket review. The “Done” column can be used to book some time spent (by the user who is connected to Mantis) It can be used for a user who for the first time worked on a ticket it had not been assigned. For users who already booked time on a ticket and for users with a task assigned to them, the normal way of booking time spent is thru a specific page presented below.Caution :During time spent booking, it is requested to the user to update the (remaining)“todo” in order to have an accurate workload astimation. The remaining Todo is automatically recalculated using formula Current Todo – Done entered. Todo only needs to be entered if the remaining todo does not match this figure.Workload and time spent are entered in HOURS.On the right subscreen (targets)For each task identified as relevant for the ticket. The developer or the manager enters the developer that will be in charge of the realization of the task (column owner) and the target date. This is mandatory for the calculation of the global workload.By entering a date in the “completed” column, the task will be considered as closed.Dates are entered thru the following format : YYYY-MM-DDTask list/Workload check. The Task list page allows the developer to see the tasks he has to do ordered by target date that has been setup by the IT management staff.31226644328193119312184490The page is accessible thru Access rights:Developer : Accessible for developer own account only.Manager : Accessible for all accountsFields Comments:Target date is the task target date (red if in the past)Todo column is the remaining todo in hours for the taskTodo cum column is the cumulated todo of all the tasks until the target dateAvail column is the cumulated availability for the developer until the target date(red if less then todo cum)General comments:Manager should be informed in case of issue (red alerts)Remaining availability can be estimated by comparison of “Todo cum” and “Avail”Time Registration functionality.5.1 Time registration.19535824939303345903164510This is the default page when you access to the “project management” menu. The IT people will book time spent on the activities using this page.Definitions:An opened activity is an activity with a target date and without a completed dateThe activities that are listed are :All opened activities from a ticket the user has at least one task assignmentAll opened activities from a ticket the user booked at least one time some time spentAll opened activities from a Transverse Task Project (ie holidays,….).Warning : Message like this if you don’t have any activity identified for youWhat to do :Choose the user you want to add hours for and click “OK”.Enter time spent for the activity in the “Done” field (in HOURS)The Remaining TODO will automatically be recalculated when saving your entries.(Current remaining todo MINUS Done you entered). If you estimate that the remaining todo won’t follow this rule, you need to enter your own estimation (HOURS) of the remaining todo in the field.Mark the activity as closed if you finished the activity.
