2nd Grade Learning Plan Menu for April 13- 17Reading: 1 hour*Packet – Do 1-2 pages a day for Unit 5 Week 3 (vocabulary, spelling, famous people – sequence of events in their life, and synonyms*RazKids – read a book 2 times and make sure to take the comprehension quiz (20 minutes)*Core 5/Lexia – reading skills (20 minutes)* Read from books at home – Complete the sequence of events chart on page 226 in packet 1 for a story you have read. Then use the chart to write a summary paragraph for the story. Start with a main idea sentence first. End with a conclusion. This could be a story that you read on Raz Kids. P.E.: 30 minutes*Exercises –jumping jacks, skipping, galloping, throwing & catching a ball*Packet 1 ideas*Put on some music and dance/ GoNoodleMath: 1 hour*Packet – Unit 5 Graphing and Time Do 1-2 pages a day*Make a schedule for your day – Draw an analog clock for each start time of an activity*Clock Scavenger Hunt – How many analog and digital clocks do you have in your home? Make a tally chart, picture graph, and a bar graph to show your results.*Think Central/HMH – The lessons are from our math program. (20 minutes)*XtraMath – practice in math facts (1 session)*Practice 3 digit addition and subtraction (exp. 345 +287 or 567-379) Do the inverse equation to check. Use scrap paper to write down problems* Math Game - What board or card games do you have at home that require you to use math? 11:00 – 1:00 Creative time/Lunch/ChoresWriting: 45 minutes*Opinion writing – In your opinion, do you prefer to have school at home or in the classroom? Start with a hook to get your reader’s attention. State your opinion (main idea). Give 4 or more reasons with examples to support your opinion. Conclude by restating your opinion. Read and do questions in the packetExtension activities: Observe flowers in your yard or on a walk you take. Sketch the flower, labeling the many parts.
