MIM Music Theater Announces Fall 2018 Concert Series

PHOENIX (August 2, 2018) ? The MIM Music Theater proudly announces its Fall 2018 Concert Series, which includes more than fifty concerts from September through December, spanning multiple musical genres across the globe.

Highlights this season include Jesse Colin Young, a critically acclaimed solo artist and lead singer of the legendary classic rock band, the Youngbloods. Iconic Grammy Award?winning jazz guitarist John Scofield will team up with pianist Gerald Clayton, bassist Vicente Archer, and drummer Bill Stewart in Combo 66, a new band that builds upon Scofield's long legacy of masterful improvisation and stylistic diversity. Five-time Grammy nominee Karrin Allyson will deliver a jazz performance filled with sass and poise.

The Fall 2018 Concert Series welcomes some artists who will be performing at the MIM Music Theater for the first time. New artists include Malian singer and guitarist Fatoumata Diawara; the all-woman a cappella choir Nobuntu, whose repertoire ranges from gospel to Afro-jazz; passionate Spanish dancers of the Compania Flamenca Eduardo Guerrero; and "Late Night with Leonard Bernstein," a multimedia cabaret paying tribute to the iconic composer and hosted by his daughter Jamie Bernstein.

Guests can look forward to the return of several favorites to the MIM Music Theater, including ten-time Grammy-winning jazz quartet the Manhattan Transfer; Donna the Buffalo, whose Americana music is infused with elements of Cajun, zydeco, rock, folk, reggae, and country; San Francisco?based bluegrass group Front Country; and Hawaiian slack-key guitar player Keola Beamer accompanied by versatile Hawaiian music guitarist Jeff Peterson.

Celebrate the holiday season with several festive concerts, including "Irish Christmas in America," a family-friendly performance featuring Irish ballads, lively instrumental tunes, and thrilling Irish dancing; hit-making songwriter and solo pianist Jim Brickman; a special holiday concert with Gypsy Soul, whose music is a soulful blend of roots, pop, blues, and jazz; and "Windham Hill's Winter Solstice," an acoustic holiday experience.

The MIM Music Theater presents over 270 concerts per year and has had over 150 Grammywinning artists perform on its stage. Within the span of only eight years, the theater has been recognized as one of the top music venues of its size, anywhere in the world. It has received praise from audiences and musicians for its unparalleled intimate atmosphere and acoustically superb sound quality.

"We have been invited to some of the world's greatest venues like the Sydney Opera House in Sydney, Australia, Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York, and also the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. But I tell you one thing, this theater and this museum are second to none," says Allen Bailey, founder of Harlem Gospel Choir.

Tickets will go on sale to members who give $250+ annually at the Fall 2018 Concert Series Preview Event on Wednesday, August 8.
