SCREENWRITERS/DIRECTOR SUBMISSION FORM via SCREENWEST
Thanks to a special partnership with your state screen agency, if you are a screenwriter, director or writer/director wanting to meet with producers to expand your contacts and interest producers in your work and skills, PostScript&Direct (PS&D) enables screenwriters, directors and writer/directors to meet with a selection of the Australia/NZ producers registered at MIFF 37ºSouth Market.
Background:
MIFF 37ºSouth: PostScript & Direct, a special initiative at MIFF 37ºSouth Market, enables selected emerging local screenwriters, directors and screenwriter/directors to meet, and pitch to, a range of experienced Australian/NZ producers, who are registered participants at MIFF 37ºSouth Market, and interest them in their work in a series of one-to-one 15-minute meetings. Some projects might already have producers attached, but – as a team – you may have determined that you wish to seek an experienced Executive Producer from PS&D.
MIFF 37ºSouth Market, which includes 37ºSouth: Bridging the Gap, 37ºSouth: Breakthru Screenings and 37ºSouth: Accelerator Express, brings together up to 70 Australian/NZ producers with invited international and local film financiers, studios, sales agents and distributors for scheduled meetings, roundtables, panel discussions, buyer screenings, emerging talent screenings and networking events in the opening days of MIFF. MIFF 37ºSouth Market also includes 37ºSouth’s Books at MIFF (BaM), which promotes links and business between the publishing and film industries through case-study panel discussions of recent adaptations, public pitching by publishers to producers, scheduled meetings between producers and publishers and networking events.
37ºSouth: PostScript&Direct is an opportunity for screenwriters and/or directors to introduce themselves to MIFF 37ºSouth Market participant producers in a series of one-to-one 15-minute meetings and thereby to hone their skills in pitching and to broaden their producer contact-base.
In 2018, 37ºSouth: PostScript&Direct will occur from 1pm on Sunday 05 August at Melbourne’s Forum Theatre in Flinders Street. Registration will be from 12 noon at the Forum. The meetings will occur from 1.30pm (sharp) at the Forum, followed by a networking event.
