|About the Measure |

|Domain |Speech and Hearing |

|Measure |Phonemic Processes |

|Definition |This is a measure of phonological processes. |

|About the Protocol |

|Description of Protocol |The Khan-Lewis Phonological Analysis, Second Edition (KLPA-2), is a norm-referenced, in-depth analysis |

| |of overall phonological process usage. Designed as a companion tool to the Goldman-Fristoe Test of |

| |Articulation, Second Edition (GFTA-2), KLPA makes use of the 53 target words elicited by GFTA-2 |

| |Sounds-in-Words to provide further diagnostic information. |

| |The primary purpose of this analysis is to provide speech-language pathologists with a method of |

| |diagnosing or describing phonological disorders in individuals. KLPA can provide a record of progress in|

| |speech and articulation skills over time. |

|Protocol text |Summary of the Khan-Lewis Phonological Analysis, Second Edition (KLPA-2) |

| |First, administer the Goldman-Fristoe Test of Articulation, Second Edition (GFTA-2), to get a detailed |

| |measure of articulation ability. Then, transfer the responses to the Khan-Lewis Phonological Analysis |

| |(KLPA) Form. Next, use the Sound Change Booklet to identify which phonological processes were used and |

| |to obtain diagnostic phonological information. |

| |Scoring Information |

| |KLPA is scored by computer and takes between 10 minutes and 30 minutes. |
