COURSE DESCRIPTIONTogether, we will learn basic, and some advanced, skills of photography for web pages. You will learn how to frame, pose, edit, and upload your best photos to share either with friends or place on your web sites. II. COURSE MATERIALSCameraIII. COURSE OBJECTIVESBy end of the course students will feel more comfortable framing, posing, editing, and uploading their photos on their websites. IV. COURSE OUTLINESee additional attachment V. STUDENT EVALUATIONThis class is graded on a pass/fail with attendance mandatory. Those who register and do not attend class will receive a fail grade.VI. Photography Your final project will be a photo web-based portfolio. Below are listed just a few themes that you can choose for photography ideas. Please choose 3-4 themes so you can take and edit 3-4 photos for each theme. Ultimately, these will be placed on a web page for your personal photography portfolio. Themes include: ? Abstract and Conceptual ? Architecture ? Black and White ? Color ? Emotions ? Film ? Foods ? Graffiti ? Holidays ? Instagram ? Lens Type ? Letters or Numbers ? Nighttime ? Perspectives ? Reflections ? Seasonal ? Self-Portraits ? Setup Scenes ? Shadows ? Shapes ? Sky and Clouds ? Social Issues ? Specific Architecture ? Street Portraits ? Sunrises ? Sunsets and Music ? Tattoos and Piercings ? Textures ? Urban Exploration ? Vintage Signs Below are the Main Concepts we will be covering in class: Rule of 1/3 Change of elevation and Viewpoint Task: In pairs, find or create photos. Stage them, take them from different positions, viewpoints to find the one that works aesthetically best for you. It needs to best represent the subject, situation, and aesthetics. Bring photos back and upload to computer or flash drive. Discuss which photo is best. Feel free to get ideas from your classmates. As you share with class, explain 3 questions: 1. Why was this subject chosen? 2. How does the scene/staging lead and keep the viewer in the photo? 3. Which photo best captures essence of the subject? Photo quality ? Why full resolution ? Save copy for web viewing ? Resolution Exposure ? ISO – light sensitivity ? Aperture – focal length ? Shutter speed – time shutter remains open 1. What are the modes of your camera? Manual, auto programmed 2. PhotoScape - 3. Take a photo and practice adjusting it. Make sure to save a copy of the original. ................
