MATERIALS NEEDED:

--CLIL Project 3D handout

--A piece of paper

--Pen/pencil

--Computer (for Internet research)

--Pictures of people doing a sport (Note for teacher: If students are going to work on the project in class, bring information / pictures for them to use or remind them in advance to do research or bring pictures from the Internet.)

PAIRS Write a description of a sport from your country or another country. Follow the instructions below and use your notes from your pair discussion. (See Student Book 2A, page 73, CLIL Project 3D.)

1 Answer the questions below. Use information from your pair discussion and do research the sport on the Internet.

1 What is the sport you have chosen? __________________________

2 Do you play or do the sport yourself? Are you good at it?

3 Using your notes, write a short presentation about the sport.

I am going to talk about ice hockey. I don't play ice hockey, but I like watching it on TV. People play ice hockey in cold countries like Canada and Russia. They ….

4 Present your sport to the class. Tape your pictures up on the blackboard, or pass them around for your classmates to look at as you describe them. Answer your classmates' questions about the sport.

5 Take a class vote: which sport is the most interesting or unusual?
