December 12, 2009 – January 22, 2010 40 Days for Life-Dallas Winter Vigil: Building on the momentum from the 40 Days for Life-Dallas Fall Vigil outside Robinson’s abortion center, where 3,300 people of faith signed in to pray, and in light of the new late-term abortion center where babies are being killed through 6 months of pregnancy for any reason, Christians throughout Dallas are invited to take part in the 40 Days for Life-Dallas Winter Vigil from December 12th through January 22nd. The Prayer Vigil will be held 4 hours per day, from 8:00 a.m.-12 noon, 7 days a week, outside the Southwestern late-term abortion facility, 8616 Greenville Ave. at Royal Ln. (NE corner). Please help spread the word to others about this important life-saving effort! December 31: Adoration in prayer for the advancement of the culture of life will be held at the Discalced Carmelite Monastery, 600 Flowers Ave., Dallas, located off of Jefferson Blvd. Eucharist Adoration begins at 11:00 p.m. with First Friday/Feast Day Mass to follow. 7 Youth For Life Meeting in preparation for March for Life trip to Washington, D.C. This

is a mandatory youth and parent meeting for those youth going on the YFL-sponsored trip January 21-24. The time and location is to be determined. Remaining deposit and medical forms are due.  Payment is non-refundable unless a paying replacement can be found. Replacement may have to be the same sex as the person canceling. 13-21   10,000 Masses for Unborn Babies: A Novena of Masses for the protection of unborn

human persons: The Saint Michael the Archangel Organization is pleased to announce the second

annual 10,000 MASSES FOR UNBORN BABIES effort. From January 13th through January 21st, it is hoped the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered at least 10,000 times for the following intention: For the protection of unborn human persons. To participate, ask a priest to offer the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass on one of the following days in 2009: January 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th, or 21st. The Mass needs to be offered for the following intention: For the protection of unborn human persons. You may, of course, have more than one Mass offered. Please see for more information.

15-16 “Lock-In for Life” for all Youth of the Diocese: 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 15th through 8:00 a.m. on January 16th, at St. Ann Catholic Church, 180 Samuel Blvd., Coppell. Join us for a powerful and engaging night to pray, learn, and grow in community to celebrate the dignity of all life from conception to natural death. Adoration, Live Bands, Food & Fun! Then on Saturday we will join thousands of other people from North Texas to march with our Bishop and pray for an end to abortion. Youth must attend as a group with Safe Environment-cleared adults. “Lock-In for Life” Registration and Release Form must be signed. Deadline for registration is January 12. Cost is $20. Saturday, January 16 – 2010 ROE MEMORIAL Schedule of Events

7:30 a.m.: Board shuttle buses at the Cathedral Shrine of the Virgin of Guadalupe, 2215 Ross Ave. at Pearl St., for the Roe Memorial Rosary, to be prayed at the Routh Street abortion center this year, 4321 Central Expy. at Fitzhugh. Rosary will be prayed from 7:45-8:45 a.m., with all pray-ers back to the Cathedral by 9:00 a.m.

10:00 a.m.: Roe Memorial Mass & Adoration, followed by Dallas Rally & March for Life, marking the 37th anniversary of the tragic January 22, 1973, Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision which legalized abortion in America. In memory of the more than 50 million babies who have died and in prayer for the mothers and fathers who have been hurt by abortion, a bilingual Mass will be concelebrated by the Most Reverend Kevin J. Farrell, Bishop of Dallas, the Most Reverend Bishop Kevin W. Vann, Bishop of Fort Worth, and diocesan clergy at the Cathedral Shrine of the Virgin of Guadalupe, 2215 Ross Ave. at Pearl St., Dallas. Music will be led by Curtis Stephan.

A representative born each year from 1973-present is needed to carry a rose in the annual “Procession of Roses” at Mass. Following Mass will be Eucharistic Adoration and the ecumenical Dallas Rally & March for Life to the Earle Cabell Federal Courthouse where the Roe v. Wade case was first filed in 1970. Don’t miss this annual event for Life!! Last year, 5,000 prayed and marched for life. Bishop Farrell challenged everyone to “double it” in 2010 – so… “Bring a friend to make it 10 in ’10!” – 10,000 praying and marching for life on January 16, 2010! Bishop Farrell would especially like to see many young people participating – from parish youth groups, Catholic high schools, Scout troops, etc. Bring your school, club or troop banner for the march! 21-24 Youth For Life trip to Washington, D.C. for the national March for Life! Youth For Life is going to Washington, D.C., for the 37th Annual March for Life on January 22nd. This trip is open to all high school aged youth. We will leave on Thursday evening, January 21st, and be back on Sunday evening, January 24th. Cost is approximately $600.
