NTTA SNOWPLOW DRIVERS TRAIN FOR WINTER WEATHER

WHAT:

NTTA snowplow operators are sharpening their skills sans snow. Drivers will plow mulch (a warm weather stand-in for snow) to clear a path as they prepare for snow and ice removal this winter.

WHEN: Sept. 20 10 a.m.

WHERE: NTTA sand stockpile beneath eastbound President George Bush Turnpike ramps to Dallas North Tollway.

TO ACCESS: Take PGBT eastbound, pull onto the right shoulder of the roadway immediately past DNT exit ramp and turn right into sand stockpile. Call 469-3711595 if you need further directions.

This important training allows NTTA operators to perfect their skills prior to the pressure of an actual winter event. NTTA reminds the driving public that snowplow and sand truck operators need a wide berth during actual operations. This will ensure the safety of both operators and motorists using NTTA roadways affected by snow and ice.

About the NTTA The North Texas Tollway Authority, a political subdivision of the state of Texas, is authorized to acquire, construct, maintain, repair and operate turnpike projects across the north Texas region. The nine-member board is comprised of Chairman Kenneth Barr; Vice Chairman Bill Moore; and Directors William D. Elliott, Matrice Ellis -Kirk, Mojy Haddad, John Mahalik, Michael Nowels, George "Tex" Quesada and Jane Willard.

NTTA serves Collin, Dallas, Denton and Tarrant counties and owns and operates the Dallas North Toll way, President George Bush Turnpike, Sam Rayburn Tollway, Addison Airport Toll Tunnel, Lewisville Lake Toll Bridge,

Mountain Creek Lake Bridge and Chisholm Trail Parkway. NTTA raises capital for construction projects through

the issuance of turnpike revenue bonds. NTTA toll projects are not a part of the state highway system and receive no direct tax funding. Tolls are collected to repay debt and to operate and maintain the roadways.
