Install Faucet

Determine the appropriate location for the faucet to be mounted. The faucet may be mounted using an existing hole for a sprayer nozzle or other accessory, or by drilling a 7/8” hole in the sink or counter-top. We do not recommend drilling granite or porcelain sinks unless done by a professional. Be sure the location of the faucet allows the outlet spout to extend slightly past the edge of the sink. The faucet has a 4” overhang. Mount the faucet as shown in FIGURE A. Note: The faucet will push out some water after the lever is shut off. This is normal operation and allows pressure to be released from the unit after use.

Hang Water Filter

Use the two screws provided to hang the filter inside cabinet. Mount 4-6 inches off the floor to ease filter changes.

Tap into Cold Water by Installing Saddle Valve or 3/8” T Connector

Both a Saddle Valve and “T” Connector are provided for connecting to your cold water. If you have a 3/8” line from your shut off valve, choose the3/8” T connector. Otherwise, use the saddle valve.

To install the 3/8” T connector (see FIGURE A), disconnect the cold water line to your existing faucet from the cold water shut off valve. Install the 3/8” T connector and re-connect the line to the existing faucet. Be sure to use any existing washers (some Teflon tape may be helpful).

To install the saddle valve (see FIGURE B), wrap the 2 piece fitting around the cold water pipe (above the existing shut off valve if possible) making sure that the rubber gasket is positioned on the piercing mechanism. Use the 2 screws to fasten the pieces together and tighten. Only after attaching all other parts, turn saddle valve piercing mechanism fully clockwise and then allow water to flow by turning fully counterclockwise.

Attach Tubing to Saddle Valve (or “T” Connector)

Slide compression nut and then the brass or plastic compression sleeve onto the red ¼” tube. Install the brass or plastic tubing insert inside the ¼” red tube. (Do not use tubing inserts with quick connectors). Insert the red tube into the compression fitting of the saddle valve (or 3/8” T Connector). Tighten the compression nut.

Attach Tubing to Housing

Push white tube into the housing’s input and the blue tube into the housing’s output (marked on housing). Push the tube into the quick connector firmly to seat, and give a gentle tug to make sure the tube is secure. Route the tubing carefully, so it doesn’t crimp. If it is ever necessary to remove the tubing, push the small inner ring that surrounds the tube inward toward the housing with a finger nail (or flat tool) while pulling out on the tubing.

Before Usage and After Changing Filters

It is important to let the water run through your new water filter for 15-20 minutes to clear the lines and condition your filters. This is a good time to check for leaks. Call 1-800-842-4605 from 9 to 5 Central Time Monday through Friday if you have any questions. Note: The faucet will push out some water after the lever is shut off. This is normal operation and allows pressure to be released from the unit after use.

Handle filter housing with care. Misapplication of Housings will void your warranty. See Warning sticker on housing for details.
