-288457129975What is the Sustainable Future Challenge?The United Nations’ has proposed 17 Sustainable Development Goals (a call for action by all countries to promote prosperity while protecting the planet).Sustainability is based on a simple principle: Everything that we need for our survival and well-being depends, either directly or indirectly, on our natural environment. To pursue sustainability is to create and maintain the conditions under which humans and nature can exist in productive harmony to support present and future generations.The next generation are already making their voices heard about climate change, the use of plastics, ocean pollution and many other environmental issues. And Sheffield Hallam University want to hear from you! We challenge you to come up with an innovative idea about how to reduce our environmental impact? Think about finding solutions to issues with energy, food, transport, resources and nature.The winning submissions will be announced on our Twitter account @SHUOutreach and contacted directly on Monday 15th March. How can I get involved?To get involved in the competition you will need to send us the following by Friday 12th of March, 2021:Your sustainable future submission: This can be in any format you like: a poster, a video, or even a TikTok or built model of your idea!A completed summary sheet about you and your submission. You’ll find this on the next page of this document. A completed consent form. You will find this on the final page of the document and will need to be signed by a parent or carer if you are under 16.
