Peter Cetera, an accomplished singer, songwriter and Academy Award nominee, has indefinitely shaped the music scene throughout the past few decades. A Chicago native, Cetera realized his passion for both music and the bass guitar in high school, playing in several local bands. In the late 1960’s, Cetera joined rock and pop music group Chicago- a band then known as The Big Thing- as the group’s bassist and lead singer. Cetera’s powerful voice and savvy songwriting skills helped the band earn three platinum albums, produce countless hits, and ultimately achieve international success.
In the mid 1980‘s, after a commendable run with Chicago, Cetera began his solo career, launching his successful debut album Solitude/Solitaire. The album’s first single, “Glory of Love”, not only climbed to number one on the music charts, but earned Cetera nominations for both an Academy Award as well as a Grammy. Cetera has produced a multitude of other hits ranging from “The Next Time I Fall” to “One Good Woman” and “Restless Heart” to “Forever Tonight.” Cetera’s vibrancy, identifiable voice and bass guitar skills have helped the star transcend decades, making him a celebrated artist still today.
