This is also done to ensure there is consistency and uniformity in the process. Members of the TA team: The QSDA regional outcome group met 3 times in August to discuss updates to the CSN portal and first attempts at data validation for participating agencies. TA staff attended the Iowa Psychiatric Rehabilitation board meeting to discuss promotion of education around Person Centered Planning for persons who experience SMI. There was also discussion around helping regions identify differences between Intensive Psychiatric Rehabilitation (IPR) and Illness Management and Recovery (IMR) which are both being measured as EBPs. TA staff attended the complex needs planning meeting to offer support for efforts to better serve persons who have multiple occurring/challenging behaviors. TA staff attended the HCBS national conference in Baltimore the last week in August. Much of the discussions were focused on implementation of Managed Care in the LTSS market. There was also a good deal of information provided that related to EVV and compliance with HCBS Final Rule. The event was attended by over 1,400 persons from across the country. Monthly technical assistance numbers are noted in the graph below. EMPLOYMENT SERVICESBeginning November 1, 2016, IACP contracted with ICIE as part of the Technical Assistance enhance training and facilitation opportunities around employment services.?The activities are reported below. Members of the TA team:Participated in weekly TA team calls.Responded to TA questions related to employment.Participated in planning, coordination, and facilitation of IACP’s Monthly Employment Advisory Committee call and posted notes to IACP website.Continued development of employment matrix.Continued planning for HCBS Employment Summit, researched/reserved meeting location, and developed promotional announcement.Planned and hosted Iowa Coalition meeting where information and resources were shared with a wide array of providers from across Iowa.Attended meeting with provider agency staff, Story County Supervisor, and Ames Chamber staff to discuss transportation resources for Story County residents in rural areas of the county. Participated in Disability Rights Iowa meeting for partners (represented IACP & ICIE) around benefits planning services in Iowa.Participated in introduction meeting with new Iowa Developmental Disabilities Council Director (represented IACP & ICIE).Met with Iowa Department for the Blind VR Supervisor to discuss how IDB can contract with more providers across the state. Developed and delivered training to > 120 Polk County case managers, care coordinators, and providers around HCBS employment rules and addressed questions.Pulled information together for annual report.Attended HCBS conference in Baltimore.Disseminated information on provider training to ICIE mailing list.Developed and disseminated survey on IVRS services and shared with providers across the state.Began research on direct support professionals training and opportunities to develop more options in Iowa.TA TRAININGCentralized/Web-Based TrainingHost Home Webinar – IACP TA team hosted staff from Mosaic on August 24, 2017 to discuss their host home program. The presentation offered considerations for matching members with families and the process used at Mosaic for quality assurance, family relief, etc. Upcoming: HCBS Employment Summit – IACP will host an employment summit on October 19, 2017. Registration information will be sent to the public mailing list in September 2017. The Summit will be held in Ames. Documentation for HCBS Services – IACP is hosting LeAnn Moskowitz who will present on HCBS documentation. This webinar will be held October 17, 2017. Changes to the Iowa rules/interpretation on use of checkboxes as part of the medical documentation record are expected to be in place at that time and will be discussed at the webinar. Disability Rights Iowa – Grievances and Appeals – This webinar will be held October 31, 2017. DRI staff will focus on the process for appeal and grievances related to service denials/cuts. Regional Training4.2 TA Regional Training: Fall Regional Training is tentatively scheduled October 2-5, 2017. ON-LINE LEARNING MANAGEMENTDIRECTCOURSE: GENERAL Through August 2017, 104 agencies were either using the DirectCourse system or had committed to system use through submission of Intent to Participate and User Agreement documents. Of the agencies using the system, 12% are non-IACP members. The change in total participating agencies is due to mergers, acquisitions and closures. DIRECTCOURSE: SYSTEM USE AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE - Organizations utilizing the system have enrolled 18,800 active learners. In August 2017, there were 50 requests for DirectCourse TA assistance. Total monthly contacts are summarized below. Since Iowa began using DirectCourse, through August 2017, learners have completed 876,657 lessons. August 2017 training completion totaled 18,648 lessons. The chart below summarizes the total number of training units completed each month. ................
