As QP1 so famously said, “Q1.” A quick look at the body of popular songs shows that the majority of popular songs are about a very few universal topics. Some common subjects for songs to be written about include STL, Topic1, Topic2 and Topic3. Often, the recipe for a hit song requires lyrics which address topics which many people will be able to relate to.

One topic that innumerable songs have been written about over the years is Topic1. “Topic1Title1” by Topic1Writer1 is written about Topic1. This is clear from the words “Topic1Quote1.” Topic1Additional1. Another song that addresses this subject is Topic1Writer2’s “Topic1Title2.” When Topic1Writer2 writes/write “Topic1Quote2,” [he/she/they] is/are obviously talking about Topic1. Topic1Additional2. A notable song which talks about Topic1 is “Topic1Title3” by Topic1Writer3. Topic1Writer3 writes/write “Topic1Quote1.” Topic1Additional3. [Don’t skip this bit: Now compare the songs one to another, in terms of content. Do they say very different things about the topic?]

Besides Topic1, many songwriters have chosen to write about Topic2. “Topic2Title1” by Topic2Writer1 is about Topic2. This is evident when one looks at the words “Topic2Quote1.” Topic2Additional1. Also dealing with Topic2 is Topic2Writer2’s “Topic2Title2.” When Topic2Writer2 writes/write “Topic2Quote2,” it is obviously talking about Topic2. Topic2Additional2. A well-known song which talks about Topic2 is “Topic2Title3” by Topic2Writer3. Topic2Writer3 writes/write “Topic2Quote3” Topic2Additional3. [Do not skip this bit: Now compare the message of the songs one to another]

Perhaps the most common topic addressed by many songs which have been written is Topic3. Probably so many songs have been written about Topic3 because [why you think so many songs have been written about this]. “Topic3Title1” by Topic3Writer1 has things to say about Topic3. This can be seen in the words “Topic2Quote3.” Topic3Additional1. Another song of many that addresses this subject is Topic3Writer2’s “Topic3Title2.” When Topic3Writer2 writes/write “Topic3Quote2,” it is obviously talking about Topic3. Topic3Additional2. A popular song which talks about Topic3 is “Topic3Title3” by Topic3Writer3. Topic3Writer3 writes/write “Topic3Writer1.” Topic3Additional3. [Now compare the songs one to another, in terms of what they say about the topic.]

People have been writing songs since the beginning of recorded history. Topic3, Topic2 and Topic1 are a few examples of the relatively small number of universal song topics. As QP2 once famously wrote, “Q2.”
