The candidate will need quantitative population modeling skills to fulfill USGS needs to adapt local data to national based models. Requirements include a PhD, fisheries knowledge, invasive species knowledge, and experience with specific Bayesian statistical methods and computer programming to develop and execute advanced population models. Experience with Program R, STAN and/or WinBugs is preferred. This will be a fully benefitted position and a competitive salary .The position is externally funded provide support for the project titled: “Quantitative Assessment and Population-level Modeling of Bighead and Silver Carp Population Dynamics Across the Mississippi River Sub-basins.”The objectives of this project are to:expand quantitative SEAcarP modeling beyond the Illinois River, andresume development of the SEAcarP model outside of the Illinois RiverInvasive Asian carps are a US Department of Interior High-Profile Topic and an extremely important topic to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency.
