(NOVEMBER 8, 2019) – The Davidson County Economic Development Commission (DCEDC) joined officials from the City of Lexington, including Mayor Newell Clark, and members of EGGER Group last week to provide updates on the infrastructure and planning underway near EGGER’s new manufacturing plant. The $700 million facility is scheduled to begin operations late 2020 and bring an estimated 400 jobs to Davidson County during the first phase of the project.?? As the building and installation of the company’s first North American manufacturing plant continues, construction on EGGER’s new office and training center is also underway, with completion and move-in expected in the coming weeks. The office building, located in the I-85 Corporate Center, will house 80 offices and feature the EGGER Design Center, a showroom full of EGGER’s most innovative products and designs. “We are excited to have a corporation like EGGER in our community,” Clark said, after touring the cutting-edge Design Center. “The positive, progressive and innovative corporate culture that they bring to Davidson County is vital to our future success. The DCEDC also gave an overview of the county’s most recent completed projects related to the new I-85 Corporate Center, including the EGGER Parkway and the Belmont Road Roundabout. “The vision of the Davidson County Board of Commissioners to partner with DCEDC in creation of a fully-served Class A industrial park for advanced manufacturing companies has been realized with the location of EGGER Wood Products,” said Craig Goodson, President and CEO of the DCEDC. “We are very excited to see the U.S. offices near completion and look forward to manufacturing production next year.”EGGER is also continuing to grow its workforce in Davidson County with the hiring of more than 185 U.S. employees for its manufacturing plant so far.
