Make-up days will immediately follow. The Grades 3-5 NYS Math exam will take place over two days from April 22nd – April 23rd. ?Make-up days will immediately follow. The Grade 4 NYS Science performance exam with hands-on lab work/experiments window?opens on May 18th. The written part of the NYS Science is scheduled for Monday, June 1st. Please ensure your child is present on testing days, unless they are sick. If they wear eyeglasses, please ensure they have them for the start of the day. Upper grade teachers will be preparing students with a variety of test preparation and review sheets in the coming days/weeks leading up to the exams. The state exams can be challenging and we want our students to be as prepared and comfortable as possible for the big day(s). Additionally, you may notice an uptick in homework assignments or different tasks/classwork activities during this time period. This is by design and implemented to provide our students with exposure, instructional practice and to build stamina they will need to shine. Please encourage your child to do their best and work hard every day as you are your child’s first teacher. Kindly, support your child to use access their iReady accounts with ELA and Math practice for a minimum of 45 minutes per week in each subject. We are providing also providing optimal learning opportunities to use iReady?in-class as well.Thank you in advance for your support and cooperation. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to speak with your child’s teacher or contact our Parent Coordinator, Ms. Margaret Lloyd at 1-347-563-4680.
