2021 Kid Stock Rules DISCLAIMER The rules and/or specifications set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. By making application for a competitor permit, it is deemed that the competitor agrees to become familiar with these regulations and abide by the directions set forth and prescribed by Management. No express or implied warranty of safety shall result from publications of, or compliance with these rules and/or specifications. They are intended as a guide for conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to participants, spectators or others. THE INTERPRETATION OF THESE RULES WILL BE SOLELY THE JUDGMENT OF THE TRACK OFFICIALS & TECH STAFF IN CHARGE AND THEIR DECISION WILL BE FINAL. Any part of the car not specifically mentioned or covered in these rules must remain STOCK. Stock parts are those found in the OEM PARTS BOOK (original equipment manufacturer), not those found in high performance or off-road racing books. Any cars being checked will be allowed to have only one driver and two mechanics present in the tech area. Any harassment from any driver or crew member to the tech staff (or any other track official) may result in an automatic disqualification, thus forfeiting all money earned that night DISQUALIFICATION DECISION FOR ANY REASON WILL BE DEEMED FINAL. DRIVER ELIGIBILITY: Minimum Qualification: This class has been created for the development of new racers between the ages of 7 to 15 years of age. Parental consent forms must be completed and approval given by Full Throttle Motor Speedway in order to compete in this division. Full Throttle Motor Speedway reserves the right to impound non-complying components with no compensation to the owner(s) Non-compliance with the specifications outlines herein may subject violating teams to disqualification, loss of points and moneys and or fine. NOTE: IF IT DOESN’T SAY YOU CAN DO IT, ASK THE TECH DIRECTOR FIRST. SAFETY EQUIPMENT All safety equipment must be inspected and approved by Full Throttle Motor Speedway officials prior to the vehicle going on the racetrack. 1.1 BELTS: Five-point safety belts and shoulder harnesses are mandatory. Belts must have been manufactured in the last 3 years and carry an SFI rating and pass FTMS conditions with Tech. Seatbelts must be in good repair with no visual damage (ie. cuts, oil stains, sun damage etc.) PLEASE NOTE: 5 Point harness would be included in oval track starter roll cage kit () 1.2 FIRE CONTROL: Fire Extinguisher: Cars must have a 2 1/2 lb. minimum fire extinguisher with steel or aluminum head mounted in a steel mounting bracket and is bolted down, and within driver’s reach with seatbelts fastened. Fire extinguisher must be serviced and inspected each year and dated no earlier than January 1st of the current year. Fire Suit: Minimum SFI 1 rated Nomex or Proban single-layer or greater fire suit are mandatory. Gloves & Footwear: Fire retardant gloves are mandatory. Fire-retardant race shoe is mandatory. NO NYLON SNEAKERS 1.3 FUEL SHUT OFF SWITCH: OE Fuel Injected cars must have fuel pump shut-off switch mounted on the roof above the driver 1.4 HEAD AND NECK RESTRIANTS SYSTEM: As of 2019 all racing divisions are required to have a head and neck restraint system to enter the speedway surface. 1.5 HELMETS: Full face Snell SA 2010 or greater. SA (Special Applications) rated helmets differ from normal helmets as they are rated for multi-impact and are fire retardant. No DOT or M rated Helmets allowed. 1.6 ROLL CAGE: Oval track starter kit from is highly recommended for Kid Stock class. CSC Racing will custom fit cage to body style you are using. Built cage is allowed but must be well built and pass all technical safety inspections before entering track surface. Built Cage: Car must have full roll hoop mounted securely to the floor behind the driver’s seat with a cross brace from side to side, 4 interior door bars are mandatory on driver’s door and 3 on passengers side or an "X" is allowed. Complete 6-point roll cage with halo and gussets is mandatory. All interior door bars must be padded where the driver may come in contact with them. Driver side must have side impact pierce protection installed. Inner door panels are recommended to be removed to accommodate space for door bars. Minimum size of tubing or pipe allowed is 1 ? outer diameter, 0.095 thickness minimum. 1 ? outer diameter tube is highly recommended. Water pipe is not permitted. The entire roll cage must be securely welded together. 1.7 SEAT: Driver seat must be a proper approved racing seat SECURELY attached to roll cage with minimum 1/2" bolts. Headrest side plates are strongly recommended. 1.8 WINDOW NET: Driver’s side window net is mandatory and must be good condition and in proper working order. PLEASE NOTE: Window net would be included in oval track starter roll cage kit () MECHANICAL & CAR BUILD RULES Cars must be stock year, make and model with no modifications. This includes all engine components, drive train, suspension, and cooling system. MUST BE EQUIPPED WITH SOFT TOUCH REV LIMITER if not previously raced in Kid Stock before 2019 MAKE & MODEL YEARS Desired: Pontiac Sunfire 1995-2002 Chev Cavalier 1995-2002 Ford Focus 1999-2004 Dodge Neon 1999-2005 *All Other 4 cylinder Models will allowed with pre-approval by FTMS tech and be subject to limiting devices and weight restrictions 2.0 BODY & APPEARANCE: 2.1 BODY STYLE: 2 door coupe or 4 door sedan BODY DIMENSIONS: must be stock appearing and made of minimum 22 gage steel. 2.2 BUMPERS: Stock bumpers and in stock location or tubing front and rear bumper may be used with a specified material and location. 2.3 DOORS & REINFORCEMENT BARS: Manufacturers crumble zones should be kept intact. Crossbars between strut towers (front and rear) will be permitted no larger than 1” steel tubing welded or bolted securely. All doors must be welded or bolted closed. Sunroof cars must be covered with 22 gage sheet metal min. No sheet metal screws. Driver’s door bars must have steel plate mounted for added protection. 2.4 INTERIOR: No “gutting” of interior panels. Inner door panels may only be removed to provide clearance for roll cage bars. Stock dash may remain in place. Carpet and additional stock seats must be removed. Driver seat to be removed and replaced with approved race seat (see safety equipment). 2.5 HOOD & TRUNK: Stock hood and truck bracing. No hood scoops & No holes cut in the hood. Stock hood / trunk latch must be removed and hood/trunk must be fastened using a Quick hold-down release for fast hood/trunk entry must be devised for emergency access to trunk. 2.6 MIRRORS: Rear view mirror is permitted. Exterior mirrors must be removed, side mirrors allowed be must be mounted within the interior frame of car. 2.7 RUB RAILS: External rub rails are allowed. Plastic / clear rub rails or 1"x2" steel with beveled ends and caps are permitted. All exterior rub rails must use carriage bolts for mounting. 2.8 REMOVAL OF ADDITIONAL ITEMS: All airbags must be removed, use caution when removing. All side windows and rear windows must be removed. Stock headlights and taillights must be removed. 2.9 WINDSHIELD: Stock windshield can be used; must have center bar installed in windshield opening, of minimum 1” x 1/8” flat stock mounted between the dash bars and the upper halo bar of the roll cage. Alternately, competitors may use lexan window with minimum of two interior support beams (no plastic) no more than 1” wide and 1 inch deep to follow contour of inside windshield are mandatory. No obstruction of driver’s view on the front windshield area except for the top 4”of the front windshield for a track sponsor decal. BATTERY: Must be securely fastened. Battery may remain in stock location. If mounted in the interior of the car, battery must be fastened securely to the floor behind driver’s seat. Battery must be covered. Cover must be fastened independent of the battery hold down. REMEMBER – Batteries are heavy and full of acid. In the event of an accident, insecure batteries could severely injure. 4.0 BRAKES: ABS/traction control system must be disconnected at module. ABS/traction control systems must be disabled. All four wheel brake assemblies must function correctly. Stock type rotors. 5.0 ENGINE: Sunfire/Cavalier: 2.2L Only. No Ecotec motors allowed. Dodge Neon: 2.0L SOHC Only. No DOHC, or European Motors allowed Ford Focus: 2.0 SOHC Only. No DOHC, Zetec, Duratec Motors allowed Any Other models are subject to approval and restrictions Engine and drive train must be completely stock. Engine computer MUST have factory settings and will be tested and/or have a rev check, failure to comply will result in a one year suspension and a complete loss of the year's points. The speedway may implement rev limiters to control speeds of vehicles. 6.0 EXHAUST SYSTEM: NO HEADERS! 1 ?” Maximum exhaust system. Catalytic converters may be removed. Exhaust must exit out the side or rear of car. Cars must 100 decibel minimum mufflers. No straight – thru mufflers. AP Exhaust Part # 709004 muffler is an approved muffler. 7.0 FUEL SYSTEM: Stock tank may be used in stock location but have adequate strapping. Additional shielding must be installed under the tank. Small fuel cell in trunk is highly recommended. If used, parcel shelf and panel behind rear seat back rest to be completely sealed with minimum 22 gage steel, and fuel cap tethered to car. 7.1 No plastic fuel filters. All fuel lines must be securely mounted under the car. 7.2. NO INLINE FUEL PUMPS. Fuel pump must be mounted inside fuel cell/tank 7.3. OE Fuel Injected cars must have fuel pump shut-off switch mounted on the roof above the driver. The switch must be a “push / pull” type switch and must be clearly labeled. 7.4 Unleaded pump gas only, max octane 91. No alterations or additives 8.0 RADIATOR: Any radiator that will fit within the stock radiator cradle is allowed. Cooling system must only NO ANTI-FREEZE ALLOWED. 9.0 RADIOS: Two-way racing radios allowed. A One-way radio receiver for the driver is mandatory and in working condition at FTMS 10.0 SUSPENSION/STEERING: All suspension components must be stock and same on both sides of the car. (Same sway bar link length, same coil spring diameter/length, etc.) CAMBER & CASTER adjustment allowed. 10.1 NO BUMP STOPS or Suspension Modifications. 10.2 Any Suspension/steering components are damaged or bent during race it MUST be repaired prior to next race day event. 10.3 No racing / lowering / performance springs. 11.0 TIRES/WHEELS: Stock rim or replacement racing rims will be allowed. Tires must be DOT or Hoosier 850. 12.0 TRANSMISSION: Only automatic transmissions will be permitted in this class. *Manual Transmission can be used with track approval and restrictions 13.0 WEIGHT: 2550 lbs Minimum (After feature race with driver in seat). The tech committee may reject cars that are considered improperly prepared. ................
