2019 Road Warrior Endurance Series Rule Book DISCLAIMER The rules and/or specifications set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. By making application for a competitor permit, it is deemed that the competitor agrees to become familiar with these regulations and abide by the directions set forth and prescribed by Management. No express or implied warranty of safety shall result from publications of, or compliance with these rules and/or specifications. They are intended as a guide for conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to participants, spectators or others. THE INTERPRETATION OF THESE RULES WILL BE SOLELY THE JUDGMENT OF THE TRACK OFFICIALS & TECH STAFF IN CHARGE AND THEIR DECISION WILL BE FINAL. Any part of the vehicle not specifically mentioned or covered in these rules must remain STOCK. Stock parts are those found in the OEM PARTS BOOK (original equipment manufacturer), not those found in high performance or off-road racing books. Any vehicle being checked will be allowed to have only one driver and two mechanics are present in the tech area. Any harassment from any driver or crew member to the tech staff (or any other track official) may result in an automatic disqualification, thus forfeiting all money earned that night DISQUALIFICATION DECISION FOR ANY REASON WILL BE DEEMED FINAL. DRIVER ELIGIBILITY: Registration per 250 lap Event will be (Driver $28 Admission included in price): $40 before 30 days prior to race, $50 within 30 days of race, $60 at the gate on race day Starting Line-up for each race will be determined by pill draw Scoring will be done electronically with the FTMS transponder system (equipment rental supplied with registration cost) Teams must supply 1 scoring person for manual scoringAdmission to Endurance Events will be: $14 Adult ($2 for 10 yrs. and under) (3 yrs. And under FREE) at general admission entrances.Pit gates is $28 Adult ($11 for 10 yrs. and under) and includes camping fees.(wristband policy in effect) and also includes access to all musical and racing entertainment of that day. Minimum Qualification: Drivers must be 16 years or older before competing in the Road Warrior Endurance Series, unless prior parental consent forms are completed, and approval given from Full Throttle Motor Speedway. GENERAL VEHICLE EGIBILITY: Vehicle open to any “Stock as Produced” make or model production vehicle with the following notes: FRONT and/or REAR and/or All WHEEL DRIVE allowed. NO DUAL WHEEL allowed or Convertables Only stock as produced to the VIN build engine is allowed. (Ownership may be asked for during pre-tech inspection) These vehicles will be COMPLETELY STOCK. They are NOT full race vehicles or speed machines. Just because an item isn’t addressed in the rule book doesn’t mean that it is legal. Full Throttle Motor Speedway reserves the right to impound non-complying components with no compensation to the owner(s) Non-compliance with the specifications outlined herein may subject violating teams to disqualification, loss of points and moneys and or fine. NOTE: IF IT DOESN’T SAY YOU CAN DO IT, ASK THE TECH DIRECTOR FIRST. 1.0 SAFETY EQUIPMENT All safety equipment must be inspected and approved by Full Throttle Motor Speedway officials prior to the vehicle going on the racetrack. Safety specs for Road Warrior Endurance Series vehicles may differ to standards at other tracks because of the speedway sizes. 1.1 BELTS: Five-point safety belts and shoulder harnesses are strongly recommended. Belts must pass FTMS conditions with Tech. Seatbelts must be in good repair with no visual damage and worn at all times while vehicle is in motion or on track surface (ie. cuts, oil stains, sun damage will be disallowed etc.) 1.2 FIRE CONTROL: Fire Extinguisher: Cars must have a 2 1/2 lb. minimum fire extinguisher with steel or aluminum head mounted in a steel mounting bracket and is bolted down, and within driver’s reach with seatbelts fastened. Fire extinguisher must be serviced and inspected each year and dated no earlier than January 1st of the current year. Fire Suit: Minimum SFI 1 rated Nomex or Proban single-layer or greater fire suit are strongly suggested. Full Body and Skin protection from fire is mandatory. Gloves & Footwear: Gloves are mandatory. NO NYLON SNEAKERS allowed. 1.3 FUEL SHUT OFF SWITCH: OE Fuel Injected cars must have fuel pump shut-off switch mounted on the roof above the driver 1.4 HEAD AND NECK RESTRIANTS SYSTEM: As of 2019 all racing divisions are suggested to have a head and neck restraint system to enter the speedway surface. Fire resistant foam neck collar protector is the minimum protection allowed. 1.5 HELMETS: Full face Snell SA 2010 or greater is strongly recommended. SA (Special Applications) rated helmets differ from normal helmets as they are rated for multi-impact and are fire retardant. DOT or M rated Helmets allowed in good condition (mandatory and will be checked). 1.6 ROLL CAGE: A full roll hoop mounted securely to the floor behind the driver’s seat with a cross brace from side to side behind the driver seat with rearward supports is optional, A complete 6-point roll cage with halo and gussets is suggested. All interior door bars must be padded where the driver may come in contact with them. Driver side must have side impact pierce protection installed. Inner door panels are recommended to be removed to accommodate space for door bars. Minimum size of tubing or pipe allowed is 1 ? outer diameter, 0.095 thickness minimum. 1 ? outer diameter tube is highly recommended. Water pipe is not permitted. The entire roll cage must be securely welded together. 1.7 SEAT: Driver seat must be proper supported from moving or folding forward and securely attached to floor. An approved aluminum racing seat SECURELY attached to roll cage and floor with minimum 1/2" bolts is strongly recommended. Headrest side plates are strongly recommended. 1.8 WINDOW NET: Driver’s side window net is mandatory and must be good condition and in proper working order. MECHANICAL & CAR BUILD RULES All vehicles must be “STOCK” to year, make and model with no modifications. This includes all engine components, drive train, suspension, and cooling system. There will be NO tolerance on this rule. 2.0 BODY & APPEARANCE 2.1 AIR BAGS: Both passenger and driver’s side airbags must be removed. NOTE: Use caution when removing air bags. 2.2 BUMPERS: Front and rear bumpers must be in stock location and stock appearing, no reinforcing allowed. 2.3 DOORS & REINFORCEMENT BARS: No added reinforcement bars other than around the driver’s compartment will be allowed. Manufacturers crumble zones must be kept intact. All doors must be welded or bolted closed. Sunroof must be covered with 22 Gauge sheet metal min. No sheet metal screws or aluminum nailed rivets. 2.4 GLASS & PLASTIC: All side windows and rear windows must be removed. Stock bumper covers must remain in place if used. All stock headlights and taillights must be removed. Windshield: Stock windshield can be used. Alternately, competitors may use lexan window or a screen with minimum of two interior support beams (no plastic) no more than 1” wide and 1 inch deep to follow contour of inside windshield are mandatory. 2.5 INTERIOR: No “gutting” of interior panels. Inner door panels may only be removed to provide clearance for roll cage bars. Stock dash may remain in place. Carpet and additional stock seats must be removed. Driver seat can be removed and replaced with approved race seat (see safety equipment). 2.6 HOOD & TRUNK: Stock hood and truck bracing. No hood scoops & No holes cut in the hood. Stock hood / trunk latch must be removed, hood/trunk must be fastened using a Quick hold-down release for fast hood/trunk entry must be devised for emergency access to trunk. 2.7 MIRRORS: Rear view mirror is permitted. Exterior mirrors must be removed, side mirrors allowed be must be mounted within the interior frame of car. 2.8 RUB RAILS: 1”x 2” External rub rails are allowed and must be securely mounted with flat stove bolts. (no sharp ends) The tech committee may reject cars that are considered improperly prepared. 3.0 BATTERY: Must be securely fastened. (If mounted in the interior of the car, battery must be fastened securely to the floor behind driver’s seat). Battery must be covered. Cover must be fastened independent of the battery hold down. REMEMBER – Batteries are heavy and full of acid. In the event of an accident, insecure batteries could severely injure. 4.0 BRAKES: ABS/traction control system can be disconnected at module. ABS/traction control systems can be disabled. All 4 Wheel brake assemblies must function correctly. Stock brakes only. 5.0 ENGINE: Stock as produced to vehicle build and VIN 5.1 Air intake must be located under the hood. NO COLD AIR INTAKE KITS 5.2 Engine must be completely stock 5.3 Clutch and drive train must be completely stock 5.4 Engine computer MUST have factory settings and will be tested and/or have a stock rev check, failure to comply will result in a 1 Year suspension and a complete loss of the year's points 5.5 Engine information must be accurately registered with speedway 6.0 EXHAUST SYSTEM: NO HEADERS! 1 ?” Maximum exhaust system. Catalytic converters may be removed. Exhaust must exit out the side or rear of car. Cars must run stock-type mufflers. No straight – thru exhaust or mufflers. AP Exhaust Part # 709004 muffler is an approved muffler. 96 Decibel maximum with Speedway enforcement. 7.0 FUEL SYSTEM: Stock tank may be used in stock location but have adequate strapping. Additional shielding must be installed under the tank. Small fuel cell in trunk is highly recommended. If used, parcel shelf and panel behind rear seat back rest to be completely sealed with minimum 22 Gauge steel, and fuel cap tethered to car. 7.1 No plastic fuel filters. All fuel lines must be securely mounted under the car. 7.2. NO INLINE FUEL PUMPS. Fuel pump must be mounted inside fuel cell/tank 7.3. OE Fuel Injected cars must have fuel pump shut-off switch mounted on the roof above the driver. The switch must be a “push / pull” type switch and must be clearly labeled. 8.0 RADIATOR: Any radiator that will fit within the stock radiator cradle is allowed. Cooling system must only NO ANTI-FREEZE ALLOWED. 9.0 RADIOS: No two-way racing radios allowed. Raceciever optional 10.0 SUSPENSION/STEERING: All suspension components must be stock. (Same sway bar link length, same coil spring diameter/length, etc.) CAMBER & CASTER can be adjusted within factory bolt holes. No grinding, enlarging or altering camber/caster stock locations. 10.1 NO BUMP STOPS or Suspension Modifications. 10.2 Any Suspension/steering components are damaged or bent during race it MUST be repaired prior to next race event. 10.3 No racing / lowering / performance springs. 11.0 TIRES/WHEELS: ALL TIRES ARE SUBJECT TO APPROVAL OF OFFICIAL IN CHARGE. 11.1 All tires/wheels must be the same size diameter as vehicle came with from factory (as shown in sticker in driver’s door area or glove compartment area) 11.2 Must be 400 or more thread wear rating 11.3 Minimum tire tread depth applies – tread must be above wear indicator. 11.4 All tires must be standard street type tires. Must be DOT approved. 11.5 No shaved or treated tire will be permitted. 11.6 No Winter/Snow Tires 12.0 WEIGHT: ALL Vehicles, NO EXCEPTION or tolerance 2300 lbs Minimum and 3500 Maximum (Before feature race with driver out of seat) ALL DECISIONS BY PIT STEWARDS, CHIEF TECHNICAL INSPECTOR OR FULL THROTTLE MOTOR SPEEDWAY WILL BE FINAL. ALL RULES ARE SUBJECT TO INTERPRETATION BY FULL THROTTLE MOTOR SPEEDWAY OFFICIALS. RULE BOOKS WILL BE ISSUED TO ALL MEMBERS. ALL EQUIPMENT NOT GOVERNED BY THE AFOREMENTIONED RULES ARE TO BE SUBMITTED TO FULL THROTTLE MOTOR SPEEDWAY NOT LESS THAN 30 DAYS PRIOR TO THE DATE OF INTENDED USAGE. NO EQUIPMENT WILL BE CONSIDERED APPROVED BY REASON ON HAVING PASSED THROUGH INSPECTION UNOBSERVED. RULES APPLY TO ALL RACE EVENTS 13.0 RACE PROCEDURE: Races will be started 3 Wide, standing start and raced under green flag condition or red flag condition ONLY with 250 laps being the full distance, RAIN or SHINE. 13.1 Pill draw at pit registration booth on race day will determine initial starting spot, lining up only after vehicle has cleared Pre-Technical inspection, 1 hour prior to race time all vehicles will have cleared technical inspection, all vehicles not clearing tech before the 1 Hour limit will be lined up at the rear of the field in order of inspection clearance.NOTE: If vehicle does not clear inspection or make the race for any reason there will not be a refund of registration money once it has been paid and it will be applied to the payout.13.2 Official finish will only be determined after post race technical inspection and official scoring check is complete, until then the race will be scored unofficial.13.3 Each team will be responsible for 1 scorer for there vehicle, electronic scoring will be done and supersede any written scoring. Written scoring will be done as a back-up to the electronic system in event of failure for any reason. 13.4 Cash payouts will be released at the registration booth on race day 30 minutes after there has been a declared legal winner and top ten. FTMS Road Warrior Endurance Series FEATURE PAY OUT:(per 250 lap feature) Purse Distribution: Payout will be awarded to the top ten drivers who have registered and participated in the FTMS Road Warrior Endurance Series race. 1st = $500 6th = $50 2nd =$400 7th = $50 3rd = $300 8th = $40 4th = $200 9th = $40 5th = $100 10th = $40 Road Warrior 1000 Endurance Series Championship Points In case of postponement of program all points will be awarded as earned. Championship points will be awarded to (Registered Members Only). Championship points will be awarded per the following scale.
