Temporary Visitor RestrictionsAugust 2020Due to increase prevalence of COVID in the community, SJH is taking additional measures to keep our patients and staff safe.? As of August 6th, SJH will no longer allow visitors in the hospital. See Policy details below. This decision did not come lightly. It is, unfortunately, a necessary step to help stop the spread of COVID to patients and our healthcare workers. We hope that you appreciate the necessity of this measure, and support our efforts to keep you and your patients safe. Visitor Policy as of August 6th, 2020Main hospital entrance will be open Monday – Friday | 6:00 am – 5:30 pm. After hours all will need to access hospital building via an employee entrance or for public the emergency entrance. PCU/ICU-No visitors permitted except video iPad visits.Peak joint and spine patients coach/support person is permitted for pre op class and 9 am PT session post op.OB- 1 Support person is permitted for labor 1 Support person is permitted following delivery (same or new)1 Support person permitted if the above support person transfers with baby transfersBoth parents permitted for readmit post-delivery to OBOtherwise, no visitors permittedLiving Center-No visitors permitted except video iPad visits.Emergency Department-No visitors/support personOutpatient Surgery, Outpatient Testing (DI, Lab, CPS), Outpatient Appointments (ie Oncology, Visiting Specialty Clinic, Lactation)-No visitors/support personBoth parents permitted for Lactation and OB related Diagnostic Imaging appointmentsHIM, Billing, Pre-Services, Scheduling Services -Ok for one person (no companions)Café -Closed to the publicSJH staff and staff working on campus (Pioneer, Childcare, POB, etc) may use caféRestrooms - Permitted with screeningGlobal Exceptions: End of Life1 Parent with child under the age of 181 Support person in emergency situations, care team to approve when that a visitor is appropriate 1 Historian for patients that are unable to initially communicate their history1 Care Giver for those patients unable to ambulate or communicate on their ownClinics -Strongly discourage support person unless needed for appointment.Vendors -Limit to essential PM’s and workWe are offering video visits via ipad or could connect you with the charge nurse to see if a window visit is available.*Window visits are only permitted with approval from care team and when arrangements can be facilitated.This decision did not come lightly. Scheduling will direct outpatient appointments to enter through the ED entrance. Patients will be screened in ED admitting and picked up from their preferred waiting area by the outpatient department they are scheduled with. ................
